While I hate to sound like Draxas..Come on! The question is easy, its about the history of a video game icon; any true gamer would know. Umm, considering I was born YEARS after most of these games came out, my lack of knowledge about them should hardly come as a surprise.

I believe Mario's original name was "Jumpman," and that was when he was in Donkey Kong.
For the second part, I have no idea...I'll guess plumber because I have no idea.
Can I get half-credit?

Jumpman is correct! One point for Raven!
Plumber is not correct though.
But y'know what? +1 bonus point anyway, for being the first to correctly answer a question!
Now, anyone else want to take a crack at the bonus question?

Cool.
I used to have a strategy guide (SMB3, maybe?) and it had a whole history of Mario and his games. Jumpman has always stuck in my head. Unfortunately, the SMB3 book was lost. That was a great book, it had all of the Mushroom House items and stuff. Never needed to know where the hidden stuff *coughwhistlescoughwhitemushroomhousecough* were, though, my parents and aunt found them all. Man, I love the NES era.
Was Mario an animal catcher?

Hmmm...
Jumpman, the Jumper! He was a jumper!
No... no that is wrong....
Doctor?
female nurse! No.. wait...
2 cent whore! No no, that's not right either...
Okay, lets try patterns Mario the plumber... "M" the first letter of 'Mario' is the fourth letter of 'pumber'
So following that logic, the fourth letter of the profession of Jumpman should 'j' ... lemme brainstorm...
... I got nothing... but
Juggler? Magician? Clown? Gymnist?

All right, back on topic. It seems nobody knows the answer to the bonus question. Don't sweat it, I didn't know it either. +1 point for Alt.L33t for a quality stumper! And bonus +1 for being the first to submit a question! Answers: Mario's original name was Jumpman. His original profession was a carpenter.Makes some sense, considering he was stubling around a construction site in Donkey Kong. Current score: Raven: 2 Alt.L33t: 2 Draxas: 2 Niff: 0 N3B: 0 Notesurfer: 0 PhoeniX: 0OK, next question! EASY EASY, free points for the speedy! Gamecube - Super Smash Bros. Melee: Who is the last hidden character unlocked? How do you unlock them? And a special bonus, because Notesurfer seems to be getting sick *coughcoughfinecoughcoughCTquestioncoughcough*... You asked for it man, let's see who the CT master is! Crazy Hard Bonus Question!
SNES - Chrono Trigger: In 12000 BC, you enter the Ocean Palace (while it's still underwater), and a particular music track plays throughout the area. That music track is exclusive to only two places in the game, one of which is the Ocean Palace. Name the other place. Anyway, that SSBM question is a free point, so I expect SOMEONE to answer correctly! And if someone besides Note knows the CT question, feel free to answer that one too!

The last character you unlock in SSBM is Mr. Game and Watch. Also, curse my bad memory, but give me some time on the CT question. I know that I've actually noticed that myself and now I can't remember where else I heard it! Grrr, curse you memory!
