Hey all.
I just signed up here (came from Gamefaqs, seemed like a cool idea, been lurking for a couple weeks now to scope it out) and I have a couple of questions. I am about to post a profile...
Is there a limit to the number of OWE items you can use? Are OWE items limited to FPS games, or can they come from other sources as well? I am planning to use equipment which doesn't really fit the standard catagories very well, should this go under Gadget War, or just in the general profile (It's not really weaponry, per se...)?
Thanks for your insight, and I'm looking forward to getting started!

No limit to OWE weapons, unless they're really stupid, etc. "Blow Up Whole Level" weapons. Examples of weapons would be good.

if a weapon is something you can't shoot with, or doesn't resemble a gun in any way shape or form (i.e, can't shoot anything.), then i'm assuming it goes under the Gadget War.

Perhaps. If i were you I would not focus too much about OWE and gadget weapons. The majority of the arenas use PD weaponry only.

Gadget war allows things that aren't neccesary weapons. Take my Lavers for example: Boots that increase speed and jump capabilities. for OWE, they can be from any game, and there really isn't a limit. The only real limit for weapons in every arena, is you can only have as many that you can fit on you. Like on back, hips, thighs, ankle, etc.

Perhaps a bit of explanation might help... My character is going to have a bionic arm, and I want to include a "hardpoint" system, allowing a universal attachment point for a weapon, internal concealment for smaller weapons, hands-free firing of the attached weapon, etc. Would something like this be part of Gadget War by necessity, or could this simply be included as a character trait? Suffice to say, this is not something that could be stowed "back at the base" during a PD-weapons-only scenario. I also notice that a number of people have melee weapons beyond the basic combat knives (read:swords), and I was planning on using one as well. How does that fit into the grand scheme of things? I realize I'm probably being a little n00bish with all these kinda inane questions, but I just want to make sure I draw up a good profile the first time. Thanks everyone.

1- i dont know about the bionic arm and hardpoint system thing... the arm isnt bad but im sketchy on the lil "hardpoint" thing.. up to n3b on that one 2- I honestly dont like the idea of swords. PD is a futuristic shooter. We dont use swords often in the present, i doubt we will in the near future. But oh well, its already here, theres nothing i can do about it

As for sword, Niff and Razor have 'em for PD weaponry only arenas, they bring them into battle, of course, but don't ever use them. I imagine the same would be for your arm. Of course it'd always be attached, but you wouldn't always have the random weapon on it.
I'd say the idea is good but could use a little changing to make it universal for various arenas. Give me time to ponder this and I'll figure something out.

OK, in that case, I'll post a profile shortly.

Yeah, go ahead and post it and I'll review it and tell you what all should / should not be changed.

Ranger has one too, and it's teh huge ass. Phoenix, our swords are not used in a medieval way, but used instead of knives. Basically..

i agree with Phoenix on swords. useing one will get you killed in a firefight. if allowed, i'd go with a bayonette instead of a sword.

Yes, but you realise it would take longer to draw a sword instead of a knife, would take longer to swing a sword as opposed to thrusting a knife, and at the range you are likely to use the sword at your opponent would still be at range to fire weapons, as opposed to a knife. I am not dissing swords or anything, but when the majority of things you use are guns, swords make a terrible back up weapon. ^--- Smart =D
