If you can't work with that I'll add more, but I got bored so I added my own plot twist.

Well. I see a certain old man forgot to take his meds this morning.
Altl has been cured of Poison.
Altl spiralled down into the yawning chasm, the light of the sun spinning in front of his eyes for several moments before the earth closed its wound and the darkness swallowed him up. He tried to scream, but found himself robbed of breath, gasping and clutching at the air for a handhold that simply wasn't there. He couldn't make a sound as he fell for what seemed like an eternity, the all-encompassing blackness robbing him of any input from his senses. Sheer terror was the only sensation now.
Down he fell, down into the bowels of the black earth, with nothing to focus on but his thoughts. And these came rushing back to him, unbidden, unwanted, unwelcome, and unstoppable...
The faces of comrades long ago left behind rushed forward to greet him, somber men in military uniforms, standing straight at attention. Rows of them stood before him, stretching off into the horizon, and they stared with cold, dead eyes. Altl recognized the faces of some of the closest as the fellows he knew during his time served, but their names escaped his memory like sand through his fingers. They stood staring, silently, their skin the dull grey pallor of a corpse long expired, but somehow preserved from the ravages of nature. And then, as he watched, they all simultaneously developed terrible, gaping wounds all over their bodies, spraying blood and gore everywhere, but especially at him. The blood was thick, and wet, and sticky as it washed over him. Altl tried to scream once more, but the blood washed into his lungs, choking out any sound he could have hoped to have made. And still it flowed over him and around him, and he felt as if he would drown in it. All the while, a barely perceptible din from the background began to rise in volume and in pitch. First slowly, then with increasing speed. By the time the noise was formed into preceptible words, it was a screeching roar...
You could have saved us!
But you abandoned us!
You left us to die!
This is ALL YOUR FAULT!
As the blood washed over his eyes, blotting out his sight, Altl finally summoned the energy to scream. And scream he did, long and loud at the top of his lungs...
And he awoke. He was curled in the fetal position, screaming into his chest like he had never screamed before, before he realized what was going on. He gathered his wits and uncurled himself to see where he was, and what sort of attention his outburst undoubtedly attracted...
Altl found himself lying on his side in the middle of a circle of white light amid a field of inky black. He stood and brushed himself off, trying to regain some of his composure while determining where he was. The environment, however, was less than helpful in lending him clues to that effect, however, and he stood in the center of his circle of light, staring into the darkness. At least this time, however, he was truly alone... At least for now.

Pacing through his cicle of light Altl soon walked the radius of the circle and stepped out of the ring of light though he was expecting to enter an endless fall he found that when he stepped into the abyss , it only went up to his knees. Taking a few more steps the world, no a world, it was by no means his world opened up to him.
This new world appeared to be similar to his old one, but it was coloured merely in different shades of grey. Stepping further in he turned around to find the void had vanished, but he was still alone. Or was he? As he walked through the grey forest for hours the only thing he saw was a deer grazing on a flower, but he pressed on for longer. And once again a deer appeared grazing upon a flower. He continued three hours. Another deer...or was it the same? Even more is that the same flower he had seen it eat previously? No it couldn't be, he continued and saw the dear a few more times just about every three hours...
"This can't be the same dear!" It can't be. Altl stopped and sat, for three hours. Like clock work the deer reappeared, so did the flower. "AH!" Altl Gasped just as he heard a voice come from behind him...
"Its just history repeating itself....." it whispered.
Altl turned and saw a shadowy figure dart off. Moving stealthily from tree to tree, he followed it for hours. Nearing the end of the second hour the it stop silent amid a clearing in which a crimson snow fell and carpeted the ground.

Altl held his hand up to catch the vermillion snowflakes as he marvelled at this strange place he had found himself in. However, as the snow melted on his fingertips, it transformed into drops of blood...
"Not again," Altl practically wailed, but no sound came as the gentle falling snow transformed into a torrent of blood from the sky. It covered him, and hit with such force that he was knocked to his knees. He closed his eyes tightly as he tried to brace himself from the force of the blood as it washed over him...
And everything stopped as suddenly as it began. As Altl opened his eyes once more, he found himself free of any trace of the blood, once again kneeling in the center of the circle of light, surrounded by the black void.
"History repeats itself..." whispered the same voice from before, with more clarity this time.
"Who are you?" demanded Altl, as he rose to his feet and searched for the speaker, "What do you want from me?"
"History repeats itself," whispered the voice yet again, ignoring his demands, the source still unseen, "And human histroy is a bloody history indeed. There are times when man feels like he has peace and tranquility, but it is just an illusion. The blood flows freely, always, but most do not percieve it until it becomes a torrent. A veritable storm of blood... And from this storm, a new peace is forged, if only for a time."
"You, Alphonse, seek something that all men do," the voice continued, and Altl began to just barely percieve a dim shape just beyond the edge of the pool of light that seemed to be its source, "You seek solace, for the wrongs you have committed. And you seek retribution, for the wrongs committed against you. These desires are part of what makes you human... And I can offer you the chance to fulfill your desires."

"How voice? How can you help me do this ?" Altl asked.
"....By taking you back...." the voice faded out...
"Taking me back?!?Back where? Back when?" Altl shouted.
The torrent of crimson errupted again with greater magnitude than before as Altl clung to his position the pressure grew greater. Finally his grip gave way and he was swept up by the river of blood. For one final second he caught a last glimpse of that deer grazing on the flower before he was completely engulfed by the river and taken under.
Everything went scarlet.
Everything went black.
