Realizing he wasn’t exactly in good shape for a battle, Kelva shot at the first goblin, immediately chugging down a potion. Refreshed, he resumed the battle.
OOC: Major problem . . . I don't know how much hp potions restore - I can only assume (hope) at least 50 . . .

Ranger emerged on the path with Schmidt and walked for the road into the forest.

The pair once again approached the forest, taking the short road straight west out of town. They stood at the T, before the forest, which remained just as intimidating as ever.
"Deja vu," remarked Schmidt, "So, what this time? Head back inside the forest, or try patrolling the road this time?"

"I am gonna go with the road this time. We know about how far into the forest we'll make it if we try to rough it again. Without some way around that enchantment we're not getting anywhere," Ranger said disappointed. He headed down the road toward the forest with Schmidt in tow.

North or south? You're at the T that borders the eastern edge of the forest.

Of course it matters. It always matters. -----------------------------------------------------------------
Ranger and Pvt. Schmidt turned south, and began patrolling the road. The trek was quiet, for the most part, and it definitely helped dissuade any feelings of unease to be close to the walls of the city. However, eventually the road broke into the plains to their left as they reached the city limits. The walls turned at a right angle, now running perpendicular to the road, while the forest continued to their right.
Schmidt waved to a guardsman on the watchtower that adorned the corner of the wall, and received a wave in return. He turned back to Ranger.
"What now?" he asked, "We've hit the edge of the city, and still no sign of goblins. Then again, they would be suicidal to try to charge directly at the western wall, since it's the most heavily guarded. We'd be more likely to run across them somewhere less populated."

"Lets head back the walls don't border the Nort road I presume..."

A map would help, since I think my description was open to misinterpretation. The road runs north to south, only the wall breaks off to the east. Some crude ASCII:
FFF|WCC FFF|WCC FFF|WCC FFFIWWW FFF| FFF| FFF|
Legend: F=Forest W=City Wall C=City Interior |=Road <Blank>=Plains I=You are here
Hope that helps...

oh Umm ok... disregard last post
Ranger stopped and looked at the guard on the wall and the forest to his opposite.
"C'mon Schmidt lets keep going and hope for some luck."

The pair struck out south along the road once again, and left the city of Kestral behind them. They hiked for some miles until the reached the southeastern corner of the forest. The road turned sharply to the west around the unnatural corner, and the plains streched out in every direction save the northwest.
Ranger couldn't help but recall the last time he was here... Passing through at a dead run after taking no small beating from one of the tougher goblins. He had already encountered foes to the west once before...
