Even ground rules and mechanics... REVEALED!
- All players, for the purposes of this round, will start with 200 HP, no money, and no weapons or items.
- For the duration of the round, unarmed attacks will be prohibited, and all shops will be closed. However, indirect counterattacks by unarmed players will still execute as normal.
- In order to attack, players will need to obtain a weapon. Fortunately, there is a new post-ending action for this round: Open item crate.
- Any time a player opens and item crate, they will be granted a random item. This could potentially be anything currently available in the LMS Common or Rare items lists (with the exception of NPC-only items), or may well be an item not yet available. The item generated must then be taken, and immediately replaces any item of the same type currently in the player's inventory. For these purposes, items are organized into the following categories:
> Weapons: Fairly self-explanatory. Includes all items used to directly attack, ie. Falcon 2s, CMP150s, Rocket Launchers, etc.
> Defensive items: Measures designed to protect the player from direct damage. Examples include Body Armor, Shields, Cloaking Devices, etc.
> Healing items: Items used to restore damage already inflicted, or otherwise modify the player's HP. Examples include Medikits, Cheese, etc.
> Misc. items: Items which don't neatly fall into the other categories wind up here. Examples include X-Ray Scanners, Skedar Disguise Units, etc.
- Any time a weapon is obtained from an item crate, it will be supplied with one full clip of ammunition. Any time one of the other items is obtained, it will be supplied with a full set of charges. Extra ammo cannot be obtained during the round, and weapons cannot be unloaded during the round.
- Any time a weapon fires its last shot, or another type of item uses its last charge, it is discarded immediately. In the case of a weapon, this returns the user to Unarmed status.
- Mystery Boxes will still appear as normal, and still generate contents randomly. Unlike standard item crates, the contents will not replace items of the same category. This is the only way players can obtain multiple items from the same category, however Mystery Boxes are not without an element of risk... Also, as always, the maximum capacity for player inventory is 6 items.
- Sims will also still appear as normal. However, they will spawn with one random weapon, and once its ammo is expended, will be forced to use item crates in the same manner as the players to obtain another weapon.
- Rewards: During this round, players will be rewarded with Tokens instead of cash. Each time a player is killed, 2 Tokens will be awarded to whoever struck the killing blow. Tokens may also be found inside Mystery Boxes, and as a reward for killing Sims. In addition, the Last Man Standing will be awarded 5 tokens for their victory.
- Tokens are special; they are the only items that players will be allowed to leave the arena with after the round ends. Once the round is over, Tokens can either be redeemed for cash or special items in a separate redemption topic.
- At the end of the round, all players will have their status restored to previous levels, and their old equipment returned. As always, everyone who participated will receive the usual +10 Max HP and +$10 boost as well.
Hopefully this should make things a bit interesting, rather than just an even HP slugfest. Good luck to all players; I expect to start on Monday or so.
