To anyone who still bothers reading these posts:
I just wanted you to know that I'm posting this from my brand-spanking-new Wii.
That is all.

I was lucky. A friend of mine happened to spot them in stock while he was in New York City yesterday. I personally have never actually seen one available, ever.

I don't like ANY of the next-gen systems, I'm just waiting for Spore PC to come out so I can retire into a hole for the next jillion years. New videogames have been nothing but a steady stream of disappointment for me. \-:
Also, I am not, nor have I ever been, a Sony fanboy.

Off topic? Never! This topic was about my ability to make a post USING my Wii, and as such is informational (and thus belongs in General), not about having a Wii (which was merely completely incidental). It's perfectly logical. Besides, does anyone even scroll down past General anymore anyway? There are only 6 of us left, tops. Oh, and incidentally: Note, you STILL have terrible taste. Either that (well, that regardless of other factors), or you're writing off the Wii without trying it, or are so badly out of shape you're completely allergic to even the least strenuous of physical activities (and to be worse than me in that department is quite an achievement).

i usually just go to general because i'm a lazy bastard
also, apparently Spore is coming out for DS as well. which could either be awesome, or a total [CENSORED]fest. either way, i'm getting a new video card solely to play spore PC.

It has nothing to do with physical activity, I jog/DDR/lift weights(pump iron)/hike/etc with great frequency. As for your offending remarks about taste . . . bite me. We always have, and probably always will disagree about which games are good and which aren't. Most next-gen GAMES are what disappoint me, not the systems themselves. I had a DS and I kind of breathed a sigh and went "FINALLY!" in regards to the touchscreen interface. The wii likewise has a great control scheme (which I HAVE tried) and the same is true for games like Guitar Hero and DDR. That said, I just don't have the time to waste on games that aren't as good as the could be, and by extension should be. It's not that the games are bad, it's just that I'm tired of playing games that seem only minutely better than the games I've played before. To me it goes something like this:
Goldeneye<Perfect Dark<Half Life<Halo<Half Life 2<Gears of War
And so on and so forth. This is just one example, but the fact is that it's totally ridiculous that we have all these games that are "inbetweeners" flooding the market with dreary gameplay. And the fact still remains that Halo 2 bores the living daylights out of me because the improvements made are still marginal compared to what could and SHOULD be accomplished given modern innovations and technology!
This isn't to say that innovative games don't exist, I'm just not in "gamer mode" anymore. I don't feel like gambling away my money to play games that might satisfy and might not. Plus I don't have the time to play anymore, which is just another excuse ^_^
So yeah, you can whine about my taste, but it's not like I haven't put at least some thought into the matter.
