I guess the awesome Razor post isn't coming. I bugged him several times to do it. I guess his addiction to that stupid World of Warcraft game has struck again.

OOC: It's back on, kids. Let's do this thing.
"DAMN IT!!!" Mike shouted angrily. Nikki just growled. It had all gone to hell so fast and now, their adversary had escaped. The looked over at their new companion, Twilight. He was just standing up. It seems that the blow from Daishi had knocked him out briefly. Most likely since he was still recovering from the first time.
"How long was I out?" asked Twilight.
"Just a couple seconds." Mike replied.
"Really?" Twilight looked surprised. "It felt more like 4 years and 39 days. Wow." He shook his head.
Nikki turned to her dad and gave him a hug. "I thought I'd lost you.", she said tearfully. Mike simply turned uncomfortably toward his own father. Nikki was probably the toughest person he'd ever known and definitely one of the coldest. When it came to her Father, though...well...she'd always been daddy's little girl.
"What do we do now, dad?" Mike asked.
"I don't know yet, my boy. This is bigger than simply chasing Daishi. He wanted the professor...the man he took...and from what the professor has told us of his work so far, that's not a good thing."
Then Sinim turned to Razor. He was still comforting his daughter. Razor was the toughest guy he'd ever known...but when it came to Nikki, he was butter.
"Bro! Let's get out of here and figure out our next move." Sinim called.
"Fine, fine...just let me gather up my weapons first" Razor said as he began replacing his weapons on his person and to their storage compartments in the car.
"Hey Sinim! Do you still have one of my Falcon 3s?" Razor called over.
"No. I gave that to the professor to protect himself. Check around the car. He probably dropped it."
Razor moved quickly searching around the car and inside it. All the while cursing his brother for giving one of HIS weapons to some stranger. "It's not here." Nikki spoke up. "I saw that girl reach in and grab something out of the back seat after I killed those guards." Razor scowled at Sinim "She took my gun. That means Daishi has it. I should shoot you you son of a..."
"Wait a sec!" Mike cut his uncle off...which was met with an angry scowl from the warrior. "Dad, didn't you tell me that Uncle Razor tended to run off like a nutcase a lot..." (Like father like daughter, he thought) ...and that you'd planted tracking chips in all his weapons? Couldn't we use that gun to find Daishi?"
"YOU DID WHAT!?!?!?!" Razor screamed, but stopped when Sinim gave him one of his serious STFU looks. Then he looked back at his son. "You're right. The scanner is in the glove compartment. Go grab it.
Mike ran quickly to do as his dad asked. The flung open the glove compartment and pulled out the small GPS looking device...and his heart immediately sank. He showed it to the rest of his family. A stray bullet that had pierced the side of the car had gone right through the middle of the screen.
Sinim looked to his son. "Can you fix it?" Mike shook his head. "I'm good, but I'm not magic. It's totaled."
Razor seemed impatient. "Big deal. We'll just head over to the nearest electronics store and..." But Sinim shook his head. "It's not that simple. Those tracking signals are special. I didn't want anyone but me picking them up...or you finding it. The only way to replace that scanner is to go where I got it in the first place." Razor frowned. "Well where did you get....no...oh no...you don't mean..."
It was Twilight that spoke next. "I've seen one of those before. In one of our labs."
Sinim turned to him. "That's right. We need to go back to the institute."

"Damn [CENSORED] [CENSORED] damn son of a bitch piss [CENSORED] [CENSORED] [CENSORED] [CENSORED] WHY..." Razor seethed and paced in a quick short circle, his daughter quickly released from his grip. Suffice to say...he was not pleased with the news. "Dammit, bro, you know I burned those bridges a loooong time ago. I'm pretty sure half of the old geezer's agents will start shooting at me from a mile out."
"Dad?" Nikara attempted to interject.
"...and tracking chips in my damn guns...of all of the...inane [CENSORED]ing things..."
"Hey, dad!"
Razor continued to seethe, glaring at Sinim now. "...but then, oh no, couldn't think to use anything but one of the Institute's crappy little pieces of [CENSORED]! Now see where it go-"
"DAD, SHUT UP FOR A SECOND!" The winged man's ranting and raving was promptly interrupted as a combat knife suddenly appeared buried about an inch into his shoulder, thrown by his red-headed daughter. He abruptly stopped, turning his eyes down towards the knife in his shoulder...then up to his daughter...and then he started chuckling. The chuckle quickly became howling laughter, and he moved to lean against a garbage can, haphazardly tearing the knife out and throwing it back at Nikki, who caught it easily out of the air.
There was an awkward silence among the rest of the group as his laughter slowly faded. "...alright, alright, you've got my attention." She pouted her lips slightly and folded her arms over her chest, tapping her bare foot lightly against the ground as she turned her eyes among the rest of the group.
"...I have a plan..." She looked to Razor and Sinim. "Dad, Uncle...leave the Institute to us. With this guy..." The girl motions her head towards the CI agent there with them. "...we should have no problems getting this taken care of, but like Dad said...burned bridges and all that. We need to find out just who he got his hands on and why...this wasn't a random kidnapping, and we all know Daishi is too prideful to JUST hide behind hostages..."
Razor frowned, scowling at Nikara for a few more moments of awkward silence before stepping forward and slapping her roughly on the back. "That's my girl! Split up...your mother would be proud." He looked over towards the others gathered.
Sinim spoke up with a sigh. "...I suppose we should get going, then. We can look for any evidence of this guy in and around the car. You all make your way to the Institute..."
Twilight nodded and tapped into his comm. "I'll make the call."

I've just spent the bulk of the afternoon re-reading this entire thread. Now I've got some pondering to do -- coming up with a clever and non-cliche motive for Daishi's interest in this technology I made up and didn't plan in advance. Also debating whether to bring my original character into the fray for a cameo, or just let the sleeping dog lie. I'll have something posted in the next few days once I've given it a bit of thought.
