ENVIRONMENT CHANGE: WESTERN FRONTIER
The warehouse shimmers and fades, and the flammable gases are whisked away by a sudden breeze. The new arena forms into the main street of a stereotypical American West town from the 1800's. The sun blazes overhead, signifying high noon, and partially blinding the combatants, and tumbleweeds periodically blow through the area in the wind.

The strong sun shines into the eyes of the competitors, making it difficult to aim properly, and also making targets difficult to distinguish from one another. Any time a non-Close Combat attack is performed, it will have accuracy of 80%. In addition, these attacks have a 25% chance to strike a random, similarly shaped target in the arena instead of the intended target. Close Combat attacks are unaffected by these conditions.

The wild west, and its blinding sun, fade out of existence, and are replaced by a biological containment lab. 3 walls are sheathed in airtight steel, and the fourth is closed off by hermetically sealed armorglass. Almost immediately, the hiss of gas venting can be heard, and a bright orange gas issues forth from the ventilation system...

The vents here are issuing forth a powerful hallucinogen, which plays havoc with the minds of any living biological entity nearby. While being exposed to the hallucinogen, anyone attempting an action of any type has a 50% chance to do absolutely nothing. If successful, any attacks performed have 50% accuracy (as targets that do not exist are seen), and even if the attack is successful, the actual target hit is completely random.

The arena shimmers and fades once more, and the gas dissipates harmlessly as everyone regains their wits. When the new arena fades into place, it is revealed to be a small, open courtyard of a concrete and steel compaund. The sky is dark, and a cool, light rain falls from the sky.

Light rain is a sort of hazy drizzle, often accompanied by wispy fog. It has a tendency to reduce visibility, to say nothing of getting in people's eyes. Accuracy of all attacks is reduced to 80% during Light Rain conditions. In addition, anyone or anything on fire in light rain has a 50% chance of being spontaneously extinguished at the end of each playing post.

WARNING! Environmental Hazard: Thick Fog detected!
The fog, while not directly harmful, does an excellent job of obscuring visibility, making it difficult to find targets and aim well, as well as disrupting certain weapons entirely. Any time an attack is made, it immediately suffers a -50% accuracy penalty. The exceptions to this are as follows:
- CMP150, Rocket Launcher (Targetted Rocket): The fog does not disrupt these functions in any way. - Close Combat attacks: While Close Combat range is short enough that the fog will have no effect, it is still difficult to find a target in the first place. Close Combat attacks suffer a lesser penalty of -30%. - Laser-based weapons: The fog refracts and distorts the beams of coherent light, causing them to scatter wildly. Any attack made with a laser weapon is completely ineffective, and inflicts no damage. - Cloaking Device, Skedar Disguise Unit: The fog interferes with these devices' ability to correctly bend light to correctly disguise the user. Neither of these will have any effect in the fog.
