Opening
Welcome one and all to the PDBA's first multi-function tournament complex. This will operate as a mix between a traditional RPG and a Battle Arena, because there is more to this place than just fighting. Outside the arenas it's like a normal RPG: there are places to explore, things to do, and event events from time to time.
Matches are held whenever a member makes a challenge that is accepted by another member. Declining a challenge has no effect on your standings in the arena, but it could seriously hurt your social life here.
All profiles will be done in standard CISOD format. CISOD members can simply use their existing profile. Do not post any profiles here. Also, don't post any 'All OOC' messages, use PMs or wait till you can stick it to an IC post.

Rules
1. No God Moding or Puppet Master'ing. Translation: Don't be a n00b and don't control other player's characters. 2. Matches can between any number of contestants. 3. Uneven teams are allowed if the Champion and Challenger both agree on it. 4. A win is declared if your opponent gives up, becomes KO'ed, is killed, or performs an illegal action. 5. In a 'Sparring Match' a death will require deliberation between a group of judges. 5a. If the death is decided as being intentional on the attacker's part, the defender will be revived and declared the winner. 5b. If the death is declared as being accidental, then the fight will be declared a tie, the defender revived, and the match will have to be redone. 6. The Challenger has the right to choose either an arena type, a special rule, or neither. 6a. If the Challenger chooses to pick their own arena or special rule, the Champion get to choose the remaining option. (Challenger chooses an arena and Champion gets to choose a special rule, or vice versa) 6b. If the Challenger chooses neither, then the arena will be a simple, large room (Normal) with no special rules.

Arena Types and Special Rules
Arena types: Normal - Just a large room with four walls, a roof, and a floor. Nothing special.
Sky - Spar amongst the clouds. High winds and electrical discharges are the hazards here. Both opponents must be able to fly under their own power or have their own alternate means of flight.
Magma Wastes - A vast wasteland covered by lava and chunks of rock, some are barely small enough to stand on while others are about the size of half a football field. The extreme temperatures here would kill normal humans if they didn't have some form of protection.
Mid Ocean Platform - A large platform in the middle of an alien ocean. Five massive pillars (one in each corner and a one in the middle) support the only piece solid ground. While there are no living creatures to inhabit the waters, the fierce storms that sometimes engulf this arena can be just as deadly.
Controlled Gravity Environment - Hosted inside an artificial gravity control chamber, this arena can be set from zero gravity to 5x Earth's gravity. Only combatants able to withstand such pressure are allowed to use the increased gravity option. The facility is built on the surface of a dead moon. The core has been hollowed out and filled with a massive shield generator. The shield encases the entire arena and is strong enough to survive even the destruction of the Dark Blaster, though that is more than can be said for anything trapped inside. It is the only known shield of it kind.
More to come. ---------- Special Rules:
Negate Powers - A field covers the entire arena that negates all powers non-essential to a combatant’s life.
Negate Technology - Similar to 'Negate Powers', this field disrupts all technology that isn't required to keep either of the combatants alive.
Only Melee - All ranged weapons are removed from the combatants and all offensive powers that do not require physical contact are eliminated.
Anti-Flying - Combatants must fight on the ground, all flying abilities are nullified. Super jumping is not affected. Cannot be used with 'Sky' arena.
More to come.

Post by Draxas on Nov 22, 2004 9:41:17 GMT -5
A black portal opens near the celing of the lobby, and swirls about a bit, sending out small discharges of energy. Moments later, the figure of a man with several bionic replacements and wearing a white coat over regular street clothes is unceremoniously deposited on his back in the middle of the floor. After doing so, the portal crackles and implodes, winking out of existance.
Draxas stood and shook his head, sending his blonde locks whipping back and forth. He instinctively felt his abdomen, out of force of habit; it seemed every time he died, he checked the site of his wounds without thinking, almost as if he was expecting that this time would be different than all of the others. Unsurprisingly, the bullet wounds were gone. However, a CMP150 was still clutched in his bionic fist. It had been the weapon he was wielding before he had been shot down dead, and he had managed to keep hold of it as he died. Like all of his more exotic gear, it seemed this small submachine gun was now linked to him, and would follow him between the dimensions as well...
He holstered the weapon, and checked for anything else that might have followed him. Unfortunately, there was nothing else besides those that came before. However, it didn't matter much; through many dimensional transfers, he had become akin to a walking armory anyway. Heavenshard occupied its usual sheath on his back, the Inferno Pistol was secured within his right forearm compartment, and his PFT, Sci-fi Handgun, Ingalls Type 20, and P2K were tucked away in their respective holsters. This was good; anything he had become attached to had followed him like always. It was good to know that certain things remained constant, even as the world around him altered itself in wild and unexpected ways...
After all of this introspection, Draxas finally had the idea to check his surroundings. This time around, he had wound up in some sort of lobby. It looked for all the world like a very clean train station; the walls and floor were all neatly tiled in a stone he could not recognize, and a myriad of passageways led off in all directions. Draxas was standing near a reception desk, but both it and the rest of the lobby were abandoned.
"Another shift, another new world to explore," Draxas said aloud, to noone in particular. His words echoed off of the tiles in the empty room. "Well, time to find out what the deal is with this place."
With that, he set off down a random passage, searching for something that could shed some light on this new place.
