Proluge
“Dante, no!” Alex screamed. “You can't! Please . . . “Then softer “please Dante, don't-” she was interrupted by his finger on her lips.
“You know I must” he said, softly caressing her cheek with the back of his fingers. Tears sprang into her eyes as she looked past him, past the cliff the stood on, out at the stormy ocean behind him. The gargantuan firey orb and the expansive black facility-like structure supporting it made her tears turn bitter. It looked like an egg. “An egg of death” she thought bitterly.
“Dante please” she pleaded, her glistening eyes and tear stained face recognizing even as she uttered the words that the look on Dante's face was inexorably constituted. She fell forward into his arms, weeping openly. The storm that brewed around them grew ever stronger, thunder resounding with the sound of and atomic bomb. Lighting struck the cliff around them with impossibly explosive purple-white bolts.
“An evil this strong” Dante began. “Should not be allowed to rampage across the planet” he paused “Alex . . .” he paused again, biting his lip. “Your like the sister I never had.” The cold blue of his eyes softened at the sight of her firey red ones, and he pulled her tighter, crushing her to his chest. The pair stood on the cliff, each wishing that the moment would last forever.
Alex embraced his warmth and the comfort he gave her. With his beating heart hypnotizing her with it's rhythm, she remembered that first day . . .
