This edition is my personal favourite, but it is rarely done. In fact, it never has been done on Plan: N3B before. One set off of Legions is the fact it is much more complicated than other Arenas. The vast detail of the profiles for Legions usually makes people want to skip it as I have noticed. Enough talking about this, I will explain Legions now.
Legions is unlike any other Battle Arena because fights do not revolve around the single player. In fact, the point in Legions is that you control a whole army including up to a maximum of: 5 Capital ships, 5 vehicle squads, 5 infantry squads, and a few additional units such as recon patrols. You control 2 "staging areas" in the Arena (usually being a whole planet), and can also add characters of ship-captains and squad leaders under your command.
Now what to do with so much? Simple, you Role Play (RP) giving orders to your officers or troops, write battle sequences, and such. At this point it may or may not seem too complicated, but this is in very general detail. Once you see the lengths of the Profiles, it will look like a lot of effort. When you think how to post, you may not have a clue what to do, but once you go through the efforts to make your profiles and once you see how parts are posted it is in fact much simpler and enjoyable than you may innitially think.
Like the rest of the Arenas here, here are the
Rules
-Keep your Legion balanced. Once you see an initial profile (I have one saved on my comp and will post if anyone would like to see it) please keep your numbers as close to it as possible. You can fiddle with squad numbers and number of units, but be sure to be around the general given number and to keep it balanced.
-By balanced I dont mean u have to focus equally in all parts of your army. For example, you can raise the number of your foot soldiers and drop a squad of fighters or make your vehicle squads weak, and vice versa: you could have a low ammount of foot soldiers but a good arsenal of vehicles.
-One thing you can not tweak with would be exceeding 5 Capital ships. They are the things that turn the tides of battle.
-You may or may not have your character participate in the battles themselves. It all depends on your character. You can be like me and stay back giving orders, or you can choose to lead your troops with them behind you.
-Troops dont respawn. However, if the thread becomes long enough for you to be significantly weakened, you can recieve reinforcements or replacements. Say, if one of my capital ships are taken down at one point and i decide to stop fighting, I can take that time to get another one along with any other troops I lost. Do not abuse this however. If one of your ships gets taken down dont instantly say in the next post another one arrives. Best thing to do would be to eventually stop fighting and role-play getting your next ship.
To Elaborate:
-Capital ships include: Skedar assault craft and cargo ships, Maian warships or motherships, Human space craft or space stations (not plausable, but possible), submarines, battleships, or considerably large aircraft, and such.
-Vehicles include:- Skedar shuttles or fighters, Maian crafts, Hovercopters, piloted Interceptors, Hoverbikes. (usual number per squad: around 15)
-ground units include: Skedar Warriors, Maian troops, human footsoldiers(can be of any variety, u can choose their uniform and such). (usual numbers per squad: 20-30)
-Other units:- Hoverbike squads (5 units per squad), Recon/spy team (10 units per team), Paratrooper team (10-15 units). Keep in mind that your "Other units" should be kept to a minimum.
