For a defenition of the classic arena, please check the ARCHIVE board. Thank you, enjoy your respite. This topic will be moved and a new topic created when this topic reaches 10 pages. N3B, I know I've been doing alot of stuff without asking you first, I hope that you will forgive me. WHOOPS: The arena is . . . Skedar Ruins, the one player version. Please be absolutely sure you write about the one player arena! Thank you all! Okay, guys, just remember that the PDBA is automatically assumed to be done during a different time frame than the CISOD, so, don't post your character coming in from the CISOD. Since we're all in teh past, that would be kinda' hard anyway . . .

Draxas awoke with a splitting headache and a gap in his memory. His vision was blurry on one side, fuzzy on the other as both his brain and bionics tried to compensate for his first waking up.
Jeez, what happened? I feel like I've been hit by a truck...
As his vision cleared, Draxas was able to take stock of his situation. He was in a stony enclave, and there was sand everywhere. I hate deserts... It reminds me of my trip to...
The thought was cut short as he gazed upward, and noted the triple suns of the Skedar homeworld.
"S***." he muttered aloud.
What could have possibly brought me back to this god-forsaken ball of sand? And how did I get here THIS time?
Draxas looked about warily, and checked his weapons at the same time. He was thankful that all of his usual equipment was in place, plus his trusty Sniper Rifle strapped to his back. He was standing in a sandy alcove, where strange rock spire formations jutted up from beneath the desert floor. At his back was a solid granite wall, with a strange Z-shaped hole carved into it.
All right, I don't know why I'm here again, but I'd be willing to bet that there is someone here who can answer that question for me. Draxas mentally activated his R-Tracker, and noted the absence of any signals besides himself. Great, a shot in the dark... Just what I need. He sighed, and set off down the stone and sand alleyway, toward who or whatever this planet would send after him this time.

<OOC> THANK YOU NOTESURFER!! Just... Gawd, thanks. This deserves a patented "WHOAMFG1!!1!1™" <ITC>
Kaine wakes up face down in the sand. He spits out a bunch of it, then pushes himself to his knees. He didn't remember how he got here, but he was thankful for it. His lust for blood needed satisfying, and what better way to do so than kill the rest of the combatents?

OOC: Graarrrghh, next arena has to be a OWE! I COMPEL YOU!
Drip, drip drip. Niff stirred. Drip, drip drip A leak in the top of his ship had woken him up. The steady, flowing pattern made splashes on his forehead. He twitched, and his eyes flickered open. Grr... he thought. He ripped his Colt from his holdster, and admired it's shiny brilliance. His smirk turned into a hatred for that tiny little hole. He aimed and shot, the 9mm nitrogen bullet freezing the stream in mid-drip.
He glanced at his wrist. His watch was radiating a silent blue. CC arena time he thought. He lurched out of bed, and glanced at his weapon collection. M3S90, MP5A4, Colt, Desert Eagle, he frowned. He couldn't use them. He threw down the 9mm pistol. Why oh why can I not use these? He glanced to his small Perfect Dark weaponry collection. He sighed as he slid the Falcon 2 into it's respectful holdster, and a CMP150 into the opposite. With a slight electric glimmer, he took out Fusion and laid it next to his other weapons.
Jumping to the cockpit, his armor clanked as he pressed the button for hyperspace, and prepared for the long haul to the Skedar homeworld with his GBA and the best game ever - Fire Emblem.

He picks up the KF7 Special laying on the ground, and loads it. (It's a classic weapon, I'm 99% sure it was called the KF7-Soviet in Goldeneye.) He also checks his inside pockets for his CC13. Check, and CHECK. Good to go. Let's just hope I haven't forgotten how to shoot, or else I'm in a heap of sh-He stops suddenly, and rolls aside. A man walks past him. Hmm... I recognize him... Draxas. Well, he's probably the only person on this hellish planet, so I'd might as well mess with him.Kaine runs up in front, and fires a spray of bullets out from behind a stone pillar. Each of them connect with the sand, causing it to kick up a little bit. He then runs back when he sees Draxas look in his direction. This should be great. He pulls a grenade from his pocket, and pulls the pin. He tosses it, and it sails over Draxas' head, exploding on the sand, causing it to create a shower of sand. That was his que to strike, and he did so. Kaine rocketed forth with such speed and power that even HE was surprised that the forearm to the neck of Draxas didn't take his head right off. Then, without hesitating, he jumped behind another stone pillar, and waited for Draxas to get up. When he did, he looked ticked. Royally pissed, anyhow. Get out here and fight me!Draxas backed up behind another pillar, and when Kaine went to check the situation, he saw nothing. So he stepped out carefully, and so swiftly rolled under a sniper bullet which would have blown his head right off his shoulders. Jeez! It's rude to shoot an unarmed combatant!Kaine pulled out his DD4 and went behind the pillar that Draxas had gone behind. Nothing. He turned around, and met Draxas' fist, sending him sprawling to the ground. He shot four pathetic bullets that hit nothing but air, then got his pistol kicked away from him. It was over for Kaine, for the moment. Never try that again, fool! With that, Draxas steadied his rifle and fired a shot at point blank, taking Kaine's head right off. <OOC> that obviously didn't work out too well. Oh, the Italics are my character's thoughts, and the bolds are the people's speech. By the way, don't.Do.That.Notesurfer.EVER.EVER.EVER.Notewrote: Just what exactly am I not allowed to do?

OOC: Kaine, the weapons from Goldeneye are the KF7 Soviet and DD44. In PD they're called the KF7 Special and CC13 respectively. Remember, when in doubt, reference the weapons guide in the archives.
Draxas popped a fresh clip into his rifle, and glared at the headless corpse lying before him. The man who had attacked him was unfamiliar, and didn't seem particularly interested in talking, which really was a shame. It was possible that this man was responsible for Draxas being here, but considering the lack of both skill and honor he had shown, it was unlikely.
So then what was HE doing here? mused Draxas, as he watched his "companion's" blood seep into the sand. And why was he so keen on attacking me?
And then instantly, all of the puzzle pieces dropped into place as the body faded away into the respawn cycle.
Of course! An arena! How foolish of me not to think of it sooner. Though that still doesn't explain how I got here.
Draxas checked his R-Tracker, and once again the display was completely empty. This time however, he replaced his rifle and drew his DMCs. Nobody is going to catch me unawares this time.
Draxas continued down the sandy alley, climbed a crude ladder, and found himself overlooking a deep gorge. A narrow pathway ran around the outside of this gash in the rock, and came together with a similar pathway on the opposite rock face. He cautiosly picked his way around and across the gap, and climbed another crude ladder, finding himself at the enterance to a twisting labyrinth of fortress walls. Occasional spires of an obsidian-like rock pierced the sky, and appeared to waver slightly from the heat of the triple suns.
As he entered the area, several signals began to appear on Draxas's R-Tracker. He kept his DMCs at the ready, and cautiously advanced down a pathway he hoped would take him towards one.
Time to hunt...

Waking up from what seemed to be a good nights sleep, Dr. Jackson stood up.
"Where am I?" he said to no one in particular. He was standing in a room with one door a bunch of old Skedar writings on the wall and a Stargate.
"Well there's something you don't see everyday." he said aloud again to no one in particular. Reloading and checking his P90 he sat and waited for someone to come and find him.

The Taipan moved at almost Lightspeed as it came to the the Skedar Ruins.
Snake: "Ok VIRA, I need you to run some Background checks. Access the Weapons Locker, check It's all fuctional."
VIRA: "Yes sir."
There was a whirring sound
VIRA: "Here is the report: Dual DataDyne CMP150's are Funcional, DMC is fine, Dual Chesluk Industries Cyclones are fine. Ok, you're good to go."
Snake: "Great, Let's manuver this Muthaf****r in."
Snake brought the Taipan in lower.
VIRA: "Distance to Ground: 25 feet, initiating landing procedure."
The Taipan hit the ground with a soft thump. Snake grabbed his Weapons and stepped out into the Harsh Three Sunned light that beamed down upon the Skedar Homeworld. He strapped a portible VIRA system to his belt and started walking and into an area full of partitions.
Snake: "Let's get this party started"

Draxas snuck around a corner, and looked out into the outdoor room with the Skedar symbol on one end. Standing in front of it, with his arms outstretched and his cape fluttering behind him, stood Notesurfer. Stealthily, Draxas raised his DMC's.
“Greetings Draxas.” Notesurfer said.
“Move even an inch and I will blow you to kingdom come.” Draxas replied, tense with exhileration. He had caught Notesurfer unarmed and dangerous, but too far away to do any damage. Even as he racked him up as another kill in his mind, something clicked. Notesurfer was no fool, he'd have backup.
THUMP, THUMP Snake and Niff jumped down off of the walls, weapons trained on Draxas. Thinking fast, Draxas shot off his DMC into Notesurfer's back and rolled out of the way, turning to sprint down the long, sandy, roofless hall. He quickly pulled out an N-bomb, setting it in Proxy, and threw it over his shoulder. The resulting explosion gave him a chance to duck into the actual building complex. Glancing back around his shoulder, he saw only two dizzy figures. Apparently Notesurfer had been injured to badly to pursue him. No matter, he would most likely heal himself by the time another person came to finish him off. Too bad. He waited for someone to come through the doorway, and when Snake came through, ripping at top speed, he quickly brought out a combat knife at neck level, effectively beheading him. However, a sudden heavy weight on his shoulders caused him to drop to his knees. Niff quickly tucked an N-bomb on proxy underneath Draxas. As if all at once, Niff jumped back, the N-bomb exploded, and Niff emptied his CMP150 clip into the now dizzy Draxas' skull. Niff grinned, the N-bomb would cause Draxas no small discomfort when he respawned.
OOC: Sorry for using you guys, but we haven't had a team post in a while. Snake, you'll get your own back, sorry for beheading you, it seemed appropriate. For those of you who didn't feel like reading it, Snake is dead, I am injured almost to the point of death. The longer it takes for someone to kill me however, the closer I will get to healing myself.

Raven opened his eyes and looked around. He was in a ruin. The walls were tan and black, and the sun was bri-- Wait. There's more than one sun there, Raven thought to himself. He looked to the sky and saw three suns arranged in a triangle. "Skedar world," he said immediately. Raven stood up and wiped the dust off of his clothes. His Falcons were in his belt holsters, he had his Data Uplink in his pocket, and his staff was on his back holster. He reached to take it out when a message from his comms link came into his ear: "Welcome to the arena, Agent Raven. This is a Classic Combat arena on the Skedar Homeworld. Please do not use any illegal weapons. Thank you," the soothing female voice said. "Great," Raven said monotonously. Sadly, he loaded his Falcons and walked out of the temple ruins. He went into the Skedar army room. It was empty and decrepit, but someone else had turned on the lights. "Looks like I'm not alone," Raven said. He took out his R-Tracker and saw there were 5 or so other dots on the map. The nearest one had just disappeared, but three other dots were closely arranged. "Crap..." OOC: Go for it, guys. Jackson, try and find me before the N-Bombs do , and Garrant, get in here ASAP if you can.

Raven watched closely as two off the dots broke off and headed towards him. Apparently someone was itchy to die. He smiled, and readied his Falcon 2. Peeking out from behind his refuge, he saw Niff helping an injured Notesurfer along. The last of the bullets in his leg popped out onto the ground, and he stood up.
BLAM BLAM BLAM
Raven stood up at the same time in between the skedar symbol he'd been hiding behind and shot Notesurfer three more times before ducking back down. Shaking and panting, he whirled out from behind to do it again, and was met full in the face with Niff's superdragon fire. In slow motion you would have noticed that Raven's head was held in place, while the rest of his body continued in it's forward motion as he fell to the ground on his back. Another interesting thing you would have noted is that his neck developed a tear on one side, enough so that you could see the force with which he was met. But Raven didn't care. He was already dead.
OOC: And I am dead as well! I said to myself, if three posts were made before I was killed I would fully heal myself, so nobody get mad at me if they don't like the fact that I was walking around again after my encounter with Draxas.

Post by Lament on Dec 8, 2003 15:19:15 GMT -5
The wind howled violently as it swirled around in funnels. Small, cyllindrical sand storms. A man lay in a heap amongst the sand, his body mostly covered. Sweat trickled off of his forehead and dripped from his brow. Suddenly, his eye-lids fluttered open. He pressed his hands against the ground and pushed himself up to all-fours. The sand shifted slightly under his weight, but he paid it no mind. He slowly arose to his feet, the sand which had accumulated upon his back and amongst the creases of his clothing plummeted to the ground. The man, known to his foes as Lament, shook his head violently. His long, black hair snapped outwards. Bits and pieces of sand flew off of his hair, joining up with the others on the ground.
Lament spun around on his heel. He had no idea where he was, but waves of pain shot up through his legs. He then began to feel the small pin-prick sensation in his calves. He snickered and aggravatedly rammed his boot onto the ground. Lament then took a look around, his chilling blue eyes scanning the scenery. His right hand slowly retreated beneath the trench coat, his fingers wrapping firmly around the dD shotgun.
Lament noted the several pillars rising up from the ground. Odd markings, almost hieroglyphic in design, littered the black and tan stone. He ran his hand through his hair, smoothing it out. He then withdrew a small circular band from his pocket, drawing all of his hair together in the back of his head. He then slid the hair into the circlular band. Afterwards, he manipulated the band, bending and twisting it so that it held his hair firmly together in a ponytail.
Lament's face was covered in white paint, but his lips were pure black. Also, two black lines extended from each eye. One extended from the inner-portion, to the side of his nose. It was shorter than the other, which extended on the outer portion of his eye. It ran down his cheeks to his chin, ending there in a point.
Lament brought his left hand up to his face, pressing his thumb against the inner portion of his left eyebrow. He then slid it across, squeezing the sweat out of it. The suns' rays beat down on Lament, creating a slight burning sensation in his skin. He ignored it, his mind wandering off to other things. He then glanced up. The fact that there were more than one sun pretty much gave off where he was. He sighed deeply.
"God I hate the Skedar.."

Post by Garrant on Dec 8, 2003 15:47:49 GMT -5
After the CISOD inncident Garrant had continued on his journey to track down evil throughout the universe. His many deeds had made his name well know and people began to follow in his foot steps. Soon the Light Warrior HQ was constructed, with him as the top ranked Hunter. Garrant and his fellow Hunters fought valiently against all forms of injustice, until one day...
*Machinegun and blaster fire echoed through the small canyon. A voice shouted above the din, "Genade away!" and seconds later the area was rocked by a massive explosion. The Hunters had already suffered extreme casualties and many had been wounded. Garrant wore a tattered brown cloak over top his yellow armor to provide some camoflauge in the desert surroundings.*
"Come on Hunters, press the attack! If we fall back any more.."
Garrant didn't bother to finish the sentence, those around him saluted and carried out his orders. Suddenly a Typhoon class Gravity Missile struck the LW's temporary base and began to crush it into a singularity. The silent destruction caused by the massive gravitaional forces was only broken by the screams of the men still trapped inside, as their bodies were subjected to 300,000,000 tons of pressure. A young Commander ran up to Garrant and saluted.*
"General Garrant, the enemy has begun to overrun our defenses. We can't hold out much longer. We need support quickly!"
"There will be no support Commander, atleast not in enough time to help..."
"What!?!"
"I already contacted HQ, they're scrambling troops and fighters as fast as they can, but the convoy won't arrive till tomorrow."
"I see, should I inform the men?"
*Garrant seemed to think about it for a moment.*
"Yes...tell them what our situation is and don't with-hold any details. Some of these men have fought beside me since this LWHQ was founded, they deserve the truth."
*The Commander saluted again and ran off to inform the others, but he hadn't made it far before a laser blast burned a hole through his chest.*
"D*** it! The enemy must have advanced quicker than anticipated."
*Another Hunter stepped out from behind a large rock, the blaster in his hand was still smoking. He looked at the fallen Commander then turned to Garrant as an evil smile spread across shis face. Garrant quickly put two and two together.*
"How could you sell us out like that?"
*The traitor raised the blaster and leveled it at Garrant's chest.*
"Just as easily as I can pull this trigger..."
And with that he pulled the trigger. The beam of energy streaked towards Garrant, but something happened. A brilliant light flooded the area. When it had fade faded, Garrant found himself laying on his back, gazing up at the sky.
"Huh? Where am I?"
*Garrant stood up, he was obviously still in the desert, but it wasn't the same. Instead of one sun, there were three. Garrant quickly checked himself for injuries, before looking around. As he activated his radar, multiple signals appeared around him, two though were colored a light blue.*
"Strange I haven't seen a signal of that color since... No! It can't be, that's impossible!*
*Garrant quickly double checked the authenticity of the signals, but all tests showed him that is was true.*
"Only members of the Slayers group were marked like this..."
*Suddenly one of the signals faded out and dissappeared.*
"Odd, must be a glitch, I guess I'll have to check out the other signal."
*Garrant stealthfully headed off to find the source of the second and apparently the only remaining signal.*

OOC: Let's see if I can patch it up, shall we? Also, my apologies to you, Jackson, as I know absolutely nothing about Stargate: SG-1. If I make any mistakes, that's solely due to my ignorance of the subject.
IC: Raven respawned and nearly lost his balance upon his respawn. He jumped back against the wall and looked down at the dark abyss below. Raven could feel his heart pumping in his throat as the adrenaline ran through him. He sighed. "That was close," he gasped.
Raven found a ladder and climbed up. Suddenly he heard voices from below him.
"...Yeah, so this guy nearly shot me, and there was a bright light. Do you have any idea what's going on here?"
"I dunno, I was at the base on SG-1 and I got a call telling me to go to the Skedar homeworld."
Raven knew of only one person that would speak in these terms: Dr. Jackson, his ally and fellow Slayer. He assumed that the other one was Garrant, only due to the fact that Jackson was conversing with this person without being shot in the head.
"Hey, I'm over here!" Raven yelled, and jumped down the small cliff onto the next plateau.
"Raven?! It can't be you!" the other man, which Raven had correctly identified as Garrant, said in disbelief. "How am I not dead? This guy shot me, and then there was a light, and then I was here!"
"Wow," Raven said quietly. "Anyway, to answer your question, this is a PDBA event. Classic Combat Arena, so I guess you're screwed again in the weapons department, eh?" Raven said with a smirk.
"That explains it, sort of," Garrant said. "I don't understand why I was suddenly here for no reason, but I guess it's good to be alive, eh? Anyway, you don't need to worry about me for weapons...I still have a Reaper from the last Classic Combat, remember?"
"Oh yeah...well, still, take this," Raven said, and handed him his Phoenix. "I think I've had that ever since we were in the Crash Site that one time...I took it from Merlin, killed him with it, and then took the gun. Never bothered to take it back, though..." Raven laughed, an odd thing to do in the battlefield. Jackson seemed to be thinking the same thing, as he gave Raven a strange look afterward.
A couple moments of silence passed, and then Raven said, "Well, I guess we should get going, shall we? I'd like to get the N-Bombs back for killing me. D*** them, I got Notesurfer, but Niff shot me in the head. Ugh, my neck still has a crick," he said, and put his neck on his neck and cracked it.
The Slayers walked over to a wall. Turning on his IR Scanner on his glasses, Raven figured out that it was a breakaway wall. "Garrant, I hate to take back my gun so quickly, but can I see my Phoenix for a second? Thanks," Raven said and Garrant handed him the gun from behind him. Raven set the Phoenix on explosive shots and fired at the wall. It immediately broke into pieces before them. Raven handed the Phoenix back and checked his R-Tracker. "OK, if I'm reading this right, I think Niff is through here," Raven said. "Are you guys with me?" Jackson and Garrant nodded, and they continued into the passage.
