Classic Combat
Classic Combat is the PDBA's most basic and loved arena. This was the first type, therfore it being named "Classic...". Battling is done on foot, no vehicles of any sort, with PD weaponry, on PD levels. This is also the most common arena because it's so easy to set up.
RULES
- PD weaponry only
- We battle on PD levels only
- We'll switch arenas once decided mutually by the group.
- During an arena change, use a vehicle to get from on arena to another (note this does not allow combat with them, simply to use them for transportation from one arena to another.)
- If you haven't a vehicle, use "teleporters" at the "edge" of a level. These will instantly take you from one arena to another.
- You are free to do things that cannot be done in PD, such as accesing obviously available spots that couldn't be accesed in PD. (EXAMPLE: jumping on the conveyer belt in AirBase).
- Give your opponent a fighting chance in combat. Let them fight back and do some damage to you. Do NOT do a cheap headshot to a person unless you are to be killed shortly after in your post.
- Limit the amount of people you are fighting. Odds are you won't win in a fight of 3 vs. 1.
- Do not run through an arena and kill everyone in one post; it's highly annoying and you will not get any respect that way. Your post would be deleted if done in this manner.
- Whatever another player says, goes. If they say you were killed, tough, you're dead.
- If you die, respawn and seek your vengeance.
- By all means, have fun with this. Don't take what another character says or does too seriously and start a big arguement.
**********************
Aside from the standard rules, we're throwing in a new rule, specifically for this arena. No Alliances Allowed. We're trying to throw in a mix to this, since alot of us have never had the opportunity to kill our biggest friends. So, it's completely FFA.
The arena will be, as requested, Lucerne Tower, the location of the most remembered battle of the PDBA.

Raven jumped off of the CI jumpship that had landed on the roof of the Lucerne Tower, and waaved the pilot off. He was puzzled as to why he was called here -- the message he had gotten merely said "Take a jumpship, the pilot will know where to go. Come prepared." And prepared Raven was. He had brought his trusty dual Falcons, along with a Laptop Gun, mines in all forms, and his staff, the Ravenclaw. Plus, he always had his faction, The Slayers, to fall back on.
Just then, a voice resonated from an unknown source. It was a cool female speaking. "Welcome to the Perfect Dark Battle Arena." Raven smiled at the fact that he was fighting once again. "This is a Classic Combat arena in the Lucerne Tower. All standard rules apply." He frowned and looked back at his staff, which would (once again) be useless for this arena. "There is one added rule, however -- this is a Free For All arena. Alliances are discouraged and prohibited."
"Crap," Raven thought. He was not the strongest CISOD member, and without Garrant, Jackson, and an unknown newest member by his side, he felt like easy prey. All of his resources would have to be used -- especially his mind. Raven jumped off the helipad and landed on the door. He tried to jump down, but accidentally got stuck through the top of the door. The next thing he knew, he was on the outside of the tower, falling. He struggled to get to the side of the tower to grab on to anything he could, but just then, he landed on the hard ground with a thud. He was not dead, amazingly. Somehow, Raven had fallen through the building and, by the looks of it, was on the bottom floor of the tower.
OOC: GLITCH'D. See?
IC: Raven walked up the stairs nearby and made his way to the elevators. The door opened with a *ping* to him, but just before he entered, he stepped back and took out a Proximity Mine. He threw it onto the floor of the elevator, then proceeded to the other elevator and put yet another mine in there. He knew he was stuck at the bottom floor, but he would know when he could safely ascend to the upper levels -- the rain of broken glass and body parts would be a dead giveaway. Grimacing at this sadistic thought, he closed the elevator and walked down the stairs again, sitting on a couch and waiting for the rest of the PDBA members to arrive.

/A vehicle loomed over the night-lit city. The Lurcerne tower reigned dominant over the rest of the buildings, it's large dD sign lighting the rooftops. The vehicle, shimmering blue in the night, hovered down close to the helipad, and from it, dropped a figure in a well-suited garb. He rolled forward, stopping on his knees, one hand on the floor, just before the edge of the helipad.
He turned his head, and pushed a button on his helmet. His ship flew off into the sky, and dissapeared into a shimmering aura of nothingness as the cloak was enabled. Peering over the grated edge of the metal floor, he found a few crates below him. To his left was a camera, apparently inactive. Looking down and adjusting his armor, he rolled forward, falling off the helipad.
Continuing in the rolling pattern, the dark figure brought his feet under him, extending them forward as he hit the ground. Bending his knees to brace himself, he took a magnum from his hip, and the ZZT from his thigh, and stood. He was directly behind the blue-lit sign, the outline of his body illuminated from behind. He turned, and presented himself to it. The infamous warrior, N3B, pulled the hammer of the Magnum back, and cocked the submachine gun, and began into the tower.

A shadow passed quickly over N3B. He paused for a moment, blinking at the door he had his hand on, before looking cautiously upwards. Nothing...but then, a lone white feather floated down from the night sky, flittering on the breeze and landing lightly on the ground in front of him. The man looked down at the feather, puzzled, and picked it up, holding it between his fingers, scrutinizing it like a difficult test. He looked back up into the night sky. "...Razor..."

Raven heard it long before he knew what was going on. A loud sonic boom could be heard next to the building and then vulcan fire littered one of the upper level windows. The glass came crashing down to the base level of the building outside the doors. Everything seemed to be crashing around the building as an entire level of the building had bullet holes light it up. The entire windowed area just crashed around the building. Then like a ghost a ship appeared hovering next to the shattered part of the building. The reverse thrust blew hot white flames out and a lone figure could be seen. He jumped insanely from the craft and landed inside the upper level of the building.
Raven knew by the looks of the ship who it was..."Ranger, How nice to see you could make it," He muttered under his breath waiting for the rest of the PDBA to make their way to the building.
Ranger had heard the hail only an hour ago. He had been off planet at the time. Not far from the planet Earth. He looked at the readout on The Redeemed. It stated that the next fight was to be harder than most he encountered in the galaxy. He was going back to his favorite past time. CC arena in Lucerne Tower. He enjoyed the thrill he got from fighting in the Arena. He set course and was soon outside the building. He did a scan on the floors and the results were back in seconds. N3B was on the top floor, Raven was on the bottom. Razor appeared to be here but he couldn't tell where since he was using his little slice of heaven to jam the pinpointing beacon.
He made for one of the higher floors since it would give him more options in the building. He went and suited up and came back to the controls. With the cloak on he began. He made a very quick loop around the building so that people would be watching and then let loose on the trigger. The vulcan cannons came to life with red hot bullets flew from the end of them. The panes of window crashed as the entire buildings windows came crashing down. Then he decloaked and opened the hatch. He stood for a second and then jumped. He looked down while he was in mid air and saw Raven's face looking up at him. Then he landed and instantly pulled the Falcons from their holsters pointing around for any sign of Razor.
"Let us begin..."Ranger said happily.

N3B reached out and caught the glistening, white feather which floated across his face. Looking into the sky, he took out a small lighter from his pocket, and ignited the feather. He looked back at it, and dropped it on the floor. Continuing on through the door, the feather burned to crisp on the concrete floor, until it was nothing more but a pinch of black ashes.
N3B walked down the ramp, and turned. At the large pipe, he took a remote mine and threw it against the wall. He walked to the other side of the room and pushed the button, detonating the mine. A large hole was blasted out of the pipe, which he then walked over to. Taking an N-Bomb off his hip, he set it to promitity, and threw one into the middle of the room.
Climbing down the ladder, he then was inside. He climbed up another lader, and placed a second remote mine on the wall, and dropped down to the bottom, getting back under the vents. He pushed the detonator, and several large chunks of wall fell down the shaft. He pushed them out of the way, and climbed up the wall, into Cassandra's Office. He took an N-Bomb and set it to proximity, and threw it down the shaft. He then took his Latptop gun, which he was sure to bring this time, and set it to autatic defense, and placed it on the desk.
He took a seat against a side of the room, keeping his eyes open at any and all possible entrances to the room, waiting...

Ranger's ship had long left but he still was in pretty much the same place. He knew there weren't enough participants to start a real fight yet. He went to the stairwell and started his way up anyway. He knew who he would find at the top of this stairwell. His readout told him quite well. He noticed a flashing red light that he was ignoring for the moment he had his heart set on N-Bomb blood and he was going to get it before he checked the message.
Just then his readout completely blacked out. Everything he had been looking at including the world around him just became black. A hackjob had been done but it was no suprise. When the PDBA wanted things layed down they were. A message began to scroll across his sight.
"Answer the hail or be eliminated from the game..."
He regained sight and decided to take action before losing without even starting. He called up the message and a sim face appeared in front of him. It was bluish and definitely feminine. Her smile hinted at a kindness but here eyes told the annoyance of the PDBA server which had been trying to hail him for a while about this now. It began to settle in on his vision and spoke softly...
"Welcome Ranger to the PDBA Classic Combat Arena. This round is the first time we have instated a new rule of this type..."
Ranger stopped it for a second a new rule. He couldn't remember any instance of adding rules to already existing arenas. He let it play again curious now as to what was going on.
"We are pleased to inform you that for this round we will be instating the Broken Alliances rule. This states that it is a completely Free For All arena. Allies and enemies are all fair game because there is no Allies and enemies there is only combatants. We hope you enjoy this round and remember shoot to kill," The sim said before disappearing from his sight.
"Well this is quite interesting," Ranger said thinking how much funner the game would be now that all the teams would be broken. Chaos Faction, N-Bom...no now the were the Neo Tetra, AoH, Undead, Slayers. This round would be quite fun. Holstering his Falcon 2's Ranger pulled another more used weapon from his arsenal. One of his favorite guns to weild as he switched it to the proper mode he leveled it.
N3B sat comfortably in the corner with sharp eyes. Suddenly the high impact shells littered the desk and the laptop gun was soon filled with holes and blew apart. The doors burst open under the kick of Ranger who was now very much the center of N3B's attention.
Ranger Secret Edit: Almost forgot this but I was thinking about it when I first started this post. I wanted to say that we should put the CISOD in the PDBA Archives now that its done and over with its taking up unneccesary space in the stickies now. Fun times were had and now I am off to see why N3B says Warriors of the World is his reason for cursing Razor.
DASA: Tru Dat. it is still up for a while so that people would still be able to post their final words of it.

OOC: Next one is VO Lucerne! Or OWE Grid.. IC: Niff flinched. His stirred in bed, the cheap hotel bedsprings creaking underneath him. The slight murmur of his infolink awoke him.. Arena.. Classic Combat.. Lucerne Tower.. Special rules apply..Special rules? thought Niff subconsciously. I've had special rules before, I wonder what it is this time..He flicked on his neural interface. Projected just in front of his face appeared a cascade of blue, red, green and purple windows. He glanced at the purple window. [glow=purple,2,300] Combatants: N3B - ENEMY Raven - ENEMY [/glow]What? N3B's status is enemy..?He switced his attention to the blue window. [glow=navy,2,300] Arena: Classic Combat Place: Lucerne Tower Special Rules: NO ALLIANCES - TEAMS DO NOT APPLY[/glow] I suppose that's what I was looking for.. this will be tough, though. No teammates..He then glanced at the green window.. [glow=green,2,300]WEAPONRY AVAILABLE: DY357 Magnum - .357 calibre Falcon 2 - 9mm CMP150 - 9mm K7 Avenger - 7.62x51mm[/glow] "I think I'll go with the .357 this time.." Niff pondered to himself. He focused his attention onto the pants to the right, draped over a chair - grenades and a combat knife attatched. He leapt out of bed, sparring shoes and boxers only.. Oh [CENSORED] it, I'm lazy.. maybe later.

OOC: wOOt! Classic Combat! Not too sure about the no alliaces rule though.
IC: A shadow passed over the city and the Taipan headed for Lucerne Tower. The Skedar Jumpship was out of place, the conventional craft were a lot more sophisticated. He checked his systems.
Snake: "Ok Vira, I'm going to prepare my equipment, you know what to do."
VIRA: "I do indeed sir, Good Luck."
Snake headed into the living area, where he placed all his weapons into their respective holsters and prepared his jump equipment. He strapped on a parachute and opened the doors of the Taipan. Drawing his Cyclones, he jumped. Sailing from the Taipan, he replaced his Cyclones before giving his ripcord a pull. His chute opened and he decended slowly, when he was over the Helipad, he unsheathed a small knife and cut himself away, he dropped lightly to the ground. He proceeded into the building, drawing his cyclones.

Finally, after all that inactivity (Steam games, Track) I have returned.
A black ship loomed in the stormy distance of Lucerne Tower. The ship itself was the dataDyne nightEagle, the gunship of Golden Magnum, a chief assassin for dataDyne. The ship's headlights were dimmed low enough so he would not attract attention, but it was still hard to see it through the rain and fog shrouding the ship and lucerne tower.
Onboard Golden Magnum's ship, he got a briefing onboard his ship's computer. "Warning, you are now enter a PDBA Zone" it said. "No ****, computer, I headed there myself." Golden Magnum said in a low voice. "Arena Type: Classic Combat. Shoot anything that moves" "Even my allies" Golden Magnum asked. "Even your allies. Alliances are disabled for this arena, so do not rely on team mates. Vehicle Combat is disabled. Good luck, sir" The computer said. "Yeah. I'm going to need it. No alliances, just like in the good old days." Golden Magnum said to himself. Once the ship reached Lucerne Tower, Golden Magnum rappeled down from the ship on a rope. Once he hit ground, Golden Magnum used the remote pilot to park the ship on a nearby skyscraper.
Once he hit ground, he drew his LX and made sure of no ambushes around. After, he checked his guns one last time before he entered. "He who isn't prepared during combat never lives to tell the tale" he said to himself as he checked his weapons. There was a round missing from his LX, so he took a loose .357 round from his pocket and placed it the empty hole in his Magnum. All his other guns were fine, so he enter the building, LX ready.

A 3-round burst shot fired from the end of Ranger's MagSec as N3B jumped to his feat, leaving the chair he had sat on, now filled with bullet holes. Bringing the magnum he held in his hand parallel to the floor, he fired a shot, and began stepping back as Ranger shifted his upper body out of the way.
Ranger started slowly side-stepping into the room. Neither fighter wished to get into a close-range battle in such close quarters. N3B eyed the floor, and then brought his eyes back to Ranger, who had ran across the room while his opponent was distracted. Ranger took another 2 shots from his MagSec while N3B was still distracted. Ducking too late, N3B was hit in the shoulder. He fell to the floor, holding his bloody wound.
While on the floor, ranger's vision obscured by the desk, N3B planted a remote mine under the wooden structure, and rolled out of the way, grabbing his ZZT from his thigh. He managed to stand on a pair of week knees, firing a few shots at Ranger, who began hurdling over couches for cover.
Once N3B was out of ammo in his ZZT, Ranger stood, and charged him with his Callisto, unstrapped from his back, firing high-impact shells like crazy. The slower fire of the callisto enabled N3B to dodge the bullets, long enough to set it off.
He pushed the thick button on his controller, the desk exploding instantly as Ranger was near it. Upon pressing the button, N3B was cast back from the desk, falling over his heels, slamming into the window. He dropped the controller and tried to grab onto the floor, managing to get his sleeve caught on a small sliver of up-rooted metal plating. smoothly bringing his other arm up, he grabbed hold of the ledge.
Dangling on the side of the massively tall tower, he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, blood dripping steadily from it, falling to the sidewalk far below. He started to swing, trying to get his leg up over the ledge, when a foot pressed down on his hand. Wincing in pain, he look up. Ranger's charred body was standing over the ledge, his other foot hovering over N3B's second hand.
With the drop of his foot, N3B let go of the ledge. Quickly taking the second magnum from his hip, he fired 3 shots at the window. With the corner of his eye, he saw Ranger holding his chest, and fall to the carpeted floor of the office. One his bullets had hit.
For a few more moment, N3B sailed down to the concrete sidewalks, hearing a loud, feminine scream right before dying.
