After a tiring hike from Balak's house Altl finally approached the inn. Whether it was his age or his injuries that slowed him down most Altl couldn't truly decide, but soon it wouldn't matter as he would be sleeping away his injuries and worries.
Stepping into the Inn a warm face greeted him. "Looks like you've been through the mill Gramps" said a voice behind the counter.
"Aren't you a little old for such colloquialisms as 'gramps'?" asked Altl. "How much for a room?"
"Oh, right..." The Inn Keeper began taken aback slightly. "...20 for a night, 1000 for a year."
"A night will do for now" said Altl handing him 20 exp.
The Inn Keeper exchanged the 20exp for a key and said "Down that way first room on your left."
Making his way down the hall seemed like it took a year, bt Altl eventually found his room and entered. Catching sight of the bed all his problems seemed to melt away. Leaving the door slightly ajar Altl collapsed onto the bed and soon fell asleep.
Altl awoke the next morning refreshed and ready to take another crack at Balak's problem. With his energies returned walking to counter was no problem. He handed the key to the man at the counter whom he soon discovered was called 'Mr.Svesta" and with a few pleasantries he departed the inn for the general store.

"Oh my," Ranger heard Mr. Svesta say, without much apparent surprise, before losing consciousness.
He awoke an indeterminite amount of time later on the bed in an inn room, feeling refreshed but uneasy. He checked his belongings right away, and found everything to be in order, but it was still disconcerting to find himself somewhere other than the place he had fallen over. The last time it had happened, he had woken up in the House of Healing...

Ranger got up and walked out of the room to find the innkeeper going about his normal routines.
"Thanks for the help earlier, had a bit of a bad fight in the caves earlier in the day and I guess all the poisons and beating caught up to me," Ranger said with a sheepish smile.

"It is quite all right," replied Mr. Svesta evenly, "It happens to folks more often than they're likely to admit, especially among the adventuring set. I employ some large gentlemen for that express purpose, disregarding their collection duties of course. Now, had you been out a few more hours, however, I would have likely called in a healer to look in on you. This, as you may know, is an expensive proposition, so don't make a habit of this unless you really do have money you'd like to burn."

The inkeeper was visibly surprised that anyone would even be walking around in this condition, let alone trying to climb up to a rented room on the scond floor of his inn. He offered Ranger his assistance, in the form of a shoulder to support him as he went, in reaching the top of the stairs and finding his room.
"You be sure to take it easy, sir," said the innkeeper with what seemed to be genuine concern, "I'm surprised you're managing to move around at all, with the kind of pain you seem to be in. Nevertheless, if you need anything, a porter should be around in the hall every once in a while. Do not hesitate to ask him for any assistance you might require.

Ranger came too feeling much better. His stomach had healed a considerable amount while he had been out.
"I think I better stay out of that valley for now. Those cats sure do know how to get a guy down." Ranger said to himself as he got up and stretched. He made sure everything was feeling ok enough to go adventuring again and satisfied with it all made his way out of the inn giving a thanks to Svesta.
