As you enter the House of Healing, you quickly notice how crowded it is, and you have only just stepped into the reception area. People sit on the many couches and chairs provided, nervously waiting for news of their loved ones being treated within the building.
A receptionist call to you from the counter that dominates the wall to your left, "Can I help you?"

Ranger awoke with a start, and sat bolt upright from a cot. He almost passed out again immediately from the searing pain all across his body, but managed to fight the sensation off. He looked around, and found that he was in a fairly typical hospital room, doubtless in the House of Healing in Suryan.
As he sat and got his bearings, he wondered just how it was he found himself here. He was sure he should be digesting in the gut of that mountain lion by now...

He layed back down still weary from all the excitement but was sure he heard the voice of someone nearby.
"I think he's back with us. I heard a groan and some rustling."
Ranger was sure he was hearing fine now as a few people came in to look over him and his wounds. He opened his eyes and asked what had happened after the mountain lion had left him holding his guts.

One of the healers, a rather tall man in the white robes that identified his position, answered his question.
"You were very fortunate," he said, "The fellow that brought you in was dressed in wizard's robes. He said that he was travelling through the valley when he saw you fall from the cliffside with terrible injuries. He claimed that he used his magic to keep you alive long enough to bring you here. If it had been anyone else that had found you, I suspect that you would have been too far gone by the time you got here."

"That was nice of him. If you seem him around again could you thank him for me." Ranger said. He then started trying to get up. He managed to get on both feet then doubled over in pain. Thanks for the help and I will assume you took the usual up front payment from me. I am gonna be off to the inn unless there is some other futher thing you wish of me.

"If you feel well enough to leave on your own, then we won't stop you," replied the healer skeptically, "But you are welcome to stay and recover as long as necessary. You sustained some very nasty injuries, and at the very least you will probably end up with some scarring. But if you push yourself too hard too fast, you could end up reopening those wounds. Please don't rush your recovery, as you could regret it later."
"But, as I said, if you feel able and are willing to leave, you are free to go. We will not keep you here against your will."

Altl awoke with a start, and glanced around in a panic. He had no idea where he was, and was greeted by the sight of a room with sterile white walls and a minimalistic set of furniture; he was sitting upright in a bed underneath white sheets, and the only other item was a small metal table across the room from him. Beside the table, a woman dressed in white clothing was arranging a tray of food, but looked over at him when she saw he was awake.
"Good morning," she said cheerily, smiling, "Glad to see you've decided to join us again."
"What?" responded Altl, still rather disoriented. Recent events played back in his mind, so vivid they almost seemed superimposed over his vision. He shook his head to clear it, and the illusion faded away. "Where am I? Who are you?"
The woman picked up the tray and brought it over to his bedside. She was rather plain, and seemed to be in her late twenties. "You're in the House of Healing, in Suryan. It seems like you overexerted yourself, and you fainted in the middle of the street when the adrenaline rush wore off. A nice old man checked you in, he seemed very concerned. He even paid your admittance costs. I guess he's a friend of yours?"
"Anyway," she continued, not waiting for a response, "You really need to take it easy for a little while. Someone your age shouldn't really be getting involved in all of this swordplay nonsense. Here," she said, offering the tray of food. It contained a bowl of soup, still slightly steaming, as well as a bright red apple and a glass of clear liquid, presumably water. "Have something to eat, it will help you recover your strength. You've been out cold for more than 18 hours now, though you seemed to be having some troubling dreams. It's a shame we couldn't wake you earlier, but the healer said that letting you come out of it on your own would be the best thing."
Altl's HP have been fully restored.
