The Prydwen Valley stretches out before you, a somewhat out-of-place expanse of green growth and beauty nestled in a high-altitude dip carved between two steep mountain ridges. The Valley is a natural formation that also serves as a convenient mountain pass; it holds the only road that leads northward out of the Suryan region, as the mountains are steep and impassable elsewhere. However, as traquil as the valley may seem, it is not without its dangers. Bandits and brigands from both the Suryan region and the lands to the north come here to prey on travellers, and even the flora and fauna native to the area is known to be dangerous.

Ranger made his way along the pathways to the valley and began to trek toward the north to the semi-unknown regions.

Ranger headed northward, between the rocky crags that made up the walls of the valley. The pass was wide here, enough for several wagons to cross abreast, but the cliffs could be hiding anything. Ranger warily kept an eye on his surroundings as he moved forward.
As he made his way through the valley, the walls began to narrow. It was still plenty wide, but Ranger could see ideal places for caravans to get ambushed; the valley had narrowed down to the point where only one wagon could move through at a time. As he glanced around for any dangers, he noticed a trail that was significantly less steep than the usual valley walls headed up the cliff face to the east. It seemed fairly easily navigable, as if it were used frequently, but some ways up it wound around some protruding boulders, and Ranger could not see its destination.

Ranger made his way along with bow ready knowing at any time a band of vagabonds or other such horrors could jump out to attack. He started tracing around the outsides of the valley as best he could to take advantage of what cover there was.

...But are you taking the path, or not?

Ranger began making his way up the trail on the cliff face. It wasn't long before he reached the hidden corner he had spotted from ground level. He discovered that the rocks concealed a path above the level of the valley, that ran for some length. He could see why this area was popular with bandits; the path he was on acted to not only shield them from view from their victims in the valley, but also offered defenses simlar to a castle buttress from anyone who would try to attack with a ranged weapon.
Ranger continued following this path, and it curled around a bit, though always kept close to the cliff and the valley. After following it for some time, he turned a corner and was only half-surprised to see a small group of creatures in front of him. They were humanoid, but not any type he was familiar with; the had pale grey skin and strangely elongated heads, and even from this distance, he could see sharp and vicious fangs gleaming in their mouths. They were crouched behind the stones of the path, looking out over the valley, and a quick glance revealed why: This area overlooked a particularly narrow part of the valley, and was a perfect spot for launching an ambush. The creatures had no apparent weapons, but Ranger had no doubt they were dangerous; as he ducked back behind the corner slightly to conceal himself from view, he felt fortunate that they hadn't seemed to have spotted him yet.

Ranger waited patiently where he was waiting for the sound of some passing caravan or traveller. He would wait and ambush the ambushers.

Fortunately for Ranger, he had arrived at the right time; despite not passing any other travellers in the valley thus far, he only had to wait a few short minutes before he heard the sound of horses and creaking wagon wheels coming from the pass to the north. He saw the bandits tense, and move closer to the edge of the cliffside...

He readied his bow and prepared to make the spring as they launched into their attack.

As Ranger watched, the one creature closest to the edge of the cliff raised its arm, as if to signal the others. Ranger chose that moment to loose his arrow, and the creatures were so absorbed in ambushing their quarry below that they didn't realize they had come under attack until the one signalling fell over from the arrow that now protruded from its side. The others were taken aback by this turn of events, and looked around confusedly, making them easy marks as well...

I figure if the ghouls can get down to them then they can get up to the Ghouls or something I dunno though the point was to catch them in a pincer move between the two groups but oh well. I am pretty confident I can take them all down with the suprise attack.
