Q.E.D.
I don't see why anyone would live here.

Well, if all you see of it is Newark Airport, then I don't blame you for having that opinion. Who could possibly like the busiest airport in the US? Incidentally, I fly Continental. They have their own terminal at EWR, it makes things a lot easier. Granted, much of NJ is far from sunshine and roses, but that's like saying California sucks because your flight out of LAX was delayed.

Philadelphia Airport. They overbooked my plane and I got the short end of the stick, well sort of... For my trouble I got: -An upgraded ticket that changed my 4 stop flight to a direct flight to SFO...first class. -Dinner on them. -A stay at the Quality Inn, in Gloucester City, NJ. -A free round trip ticket good for anywhere in the real United States (Real = all the states except Alaska and Hawaii)
Gloucester City was amazing, the people at the hotel boasted that the town had a Wawa (some kind of mini mart)...which is apparently a big deal in New Jersey?
I assume Gloucester City is representative of the state.
And while I may not have left my heart in San Francisco, I definitely left my phone in Jersey.
Edit: I might add: Wawa actually was kind of impressive for a mini mart, but I don't think I would boast about it to tourists.

I've never even heard of Gloucester City, and I was born and raised here. And no, a Wawa is nothing to boast about; every town south of Newark seems to have one now.
You wound up in a weird part of South Jersey, clearly. They are definitely not representative of the state. Any deeper into South Jersey, and you might have run into the Pine Barren folk; now that would be a frightening encounter. Think: Deliverance.

Haha, I gathered when the town boasted a mini mart it was probably an outlier and in the hicks, but its fun to make generalizations about places based on a small sample.

Eh I've got family in Jersey and I also donno why anyone would dislike LAX that is such a fun terminal just like vegas. Now O'Hare that's a horrid terminal! Also I believe the term is contingent United States. It's a fairly standard practice that happens quite often based on my travels.

I know when I was telling other people about it the term Contiguous United States came up.

Contiguous or continental are both common. So is "the lower 48." Only contiguous is technically correct.

If the contiguous states are the lower 48, Hawaii must be an outlier.
