X continued to approach the mechanoids cautiously. It seemed rather unusual that they paid him no heed; he was even able to approach within several yards of the combat mechanoid without being acknowledged. However, as he glanced over at the war machine's next target, it became immediately clear what its objective was. While from a distance, the mechanoid appeared to simply be causing collateral damage, now that X was up close, he was shocked by the truth.
Inside the twisted, damaged wreckage of one of the vehicles, X spotted the limp form of a human slumped across the steering wheel. The combat mechanoid flipped open its missile doors, and prepared to fire again...

Ryu attempts to escape... [3] Success!
As the thugs charged at him, Ryu kicked off the ground into a backward leap, turning it into a flying backflip. His feat of dexterity carried him across the gap between the rooftops, and he landed on the roof of the adjacant building, skidding slightly to a stop in the loose gravel. Undeterred, the thugs hesitated only momentarily before they began leaping across after him one by one, seeming to soar across the chasm that fell at least a dozen stories to the street below.
Who are they? wondered Ryu, as he readied his blade once more, No simple thug should be able to make it across that gap...
They seemed intent on fighting, but as the second thug landed on the rooftop, Ryu realized that, if only momentarily, their numbers advantage was almost gone...

As the thugs advanced towards Ryu, Ryu considered his options, he could fight, or run and try to isolate them. If he ran they would eventually find him as a group, he had to fight. He decided against throwing the thugs off the building, chances are there would be a witness, and he didn't need the authorities after him.

Ryu pivoted his body, slashing vertically downward. As the guard stumbled back, Ryu readied himself for the assault.
Edit: Also, does the Dragon Sword count as a Katana, I intend to use the windmill slash in trick situations.)

Still reeling from the initial dust attack, Sol is cracked full on over the head by the strike and slams into the dirt. He recovered quickly, but was apparently knocked around hard enough that he couldn't see straight, because his follow up attack wound up way off the mark...

Ryu
If you can't get an actual die, use the new RNG at random.org. They actually have a special dice rolling utility now, that is much more user friendly than the old RNG interface; you simply input the number of d6es you want to roll, and the app does the rest. The link to it is right on the main page.
Ryu uses Whirlwind Slash against Thug #3! Thug #3 takes [15+6+1-0=] 22 damage! Thug #3 has been defeated! Thug #2 attacks! Ryu takes [5+2-9=] 0 damage! Thug #4 joins the battle!

With a tremendous crack and random discord, the guitar came down hard across Sol's left temple, stopping him in his tracks. He swayed on his feet for a moment, seemingly attempting to raise his weapon to strike, before the blade tumbled from his hand to land in the dirt. His unconscious form followed only a moment after.
