I-No
She stood, looking out over the cliff's edge at the seemingly endless sea. The view was beautiful, and in this war-torn era, it was extremely rare to see something so pristine and untouched. Despite that, she paid it no heed; she was simply there, waiting.
She knew he would come here. The others were occupied, and being dealt with in one fashion or another; those bounty hunting fools were not only incredibly gullible, but had been quite useful for that purpose. He was different, though, as she well knew. Tricks and games weren't going to stop him. He was relentless in his pursuit, and he knew her master was here. His arrival was inevitable. She planned to ensure his defeat was as well.
"You."
The familiar voice came from behind her. He was right on schedule; Sol Badguy (What a ridiculous name he's chosen! she thought) was nothing if not predictable.
"Stand aside," he said simply, as she turned to face him.

Pac Man
"Have a good day, honey," called Ms. Pac Man from behind him, "And please be home in time for dinner. Also, ask Junior to come home if you see him."
"Will do, honey," Pac Man replied, and smiled and waved as he stepped outside.
It was a typically beautiful day in Pac Land, with the sun shining down from a cloudless sky. Pac Man breathed in the fresh air as he headed toward the giant fruit tree at the center of town, waving to his neighbors as he passed..
He had wanted to see the Professor today regarding the rumors of ghosts, but that all seemed pretty silly in the face of such a nice day. Still, it would be a good idea to do something to assuage everyone's fears, even if he himself thought they were letting their imaginations get the best of them. He would probably be in the observatory at this time of day.
As Pac Man looked across at the observatory, he found his gaze instead drawn to the arcade. He figured Junior would probably be there right now, killing time after school...

Megaman X
X couldn't help but gasp as he landed from the teleport. The destruction was widespread and horrific, with smoke rising from a multitude of craters blasted into the ruins of the former highway. Even now, the last few straggling survivors drove past him in a panic in their vehicles, several sporting obvious weapons damage. However, much more prevalent were the burning remains of vehicles belonging to those who weren't so lucky; they were scattered across the highway, their frames emitting thick, oily black smoke, several even half hanging over the smashed remains of the guardrails, threatening to plunge into the water below if agitated too much. He could also see mechanoids off in the distance, blasting their weapons seemingly randomly. And hanging above all the carnage like a gigantic vulture was his target, Sigma's airborne carrier. Even as he watched, it disgorged another group of flying mechanoids, which began blasting another set of targets...
"X, come in!" crackled his communicator, "Can you hear me? Have you arrived safely?"
"I hear you, Dr. Cain," responded X, "And I have arrived at the site of the attack. It's horrible..."
"That's why you're there, X," replied Dr. Cain, "To put a stop to it. Be strong, and godspeed. I'll be at the comm if you need assistance."
As the comm signal faded from his hearing, X continued to gaze about in horror. He clenched his fist, and his newly fitted Buster weapon deployed itself from his forearm, enveloping his hand. The attack seemed so random, so pointless, as if the Mavericks simply wanted to do damage and take lives for its own sake.
And I am the only one who can stop them...

The Bard
Well, how tough could it be? he thought, as he descended the stairs.
The Bard was descending the stairs into the basement of the Drunken Rat tavern and inn. He had accepted the only job the barmaid had on offer: exterminator. He couldn't help but wonder what had come over him, since this was pretty humiliating as work went, and certainly not really up to the standards he associated with the title of "adventurer." Even the drunken revelers had laughed at him when they got wind of it, and then they wouldn't stop singing that ridiculous song...
Then again, the price was right for such a simple job. She had offered him free boarding, free booze, and even said he could keep whatever he found in the cellar, just to take care of some rats. How hard could it be? And despite the fact that their song was ridiculous, he had to admit that beer certainly was a powerful motivator...
The Bard reached the bottom of the stairs and glanced around the cellar. It was surprisingly well lit and dry; he had certainly been thrown in worse before, anyway.
Now, to take care of some vermin...

Leon
The police car came to a halt on the far side of the bridge, kicking up a cloud of dust from the unpaved road. Leon looked up as the driver cut the engine.
"OK, hombre," he said, "We're here. This is as far as we go."
"What, you fellas aren't coming with me?" asked Leon as he stepped out of the car and closed the door.
"Hey, someone has to watch the car, right?" said the other policeman, and they both chuckled.
"Figures," muttered Leon, as he stepped away from the car and headed down the dirt road toward the village.
The place was dark and gloomy, despite it only being mid-afternoon. Twisted trees loomed overhead, casting the area into permanent shadow. On the path ahead, Leon could see a group of crows clustered together, milling about. They looked over at him as he approached, and then lazily took wing and flew away.
As he reached the spot where the crows had been, he could see a single cabin up ahead. The road itself seemed to continue past there, before being swallowed by the woods once more.
This must still only be the outskirts, thought Leon as he drew closer, Those cops are useless. Well, I suppose I could always ask for directions...

I-no slowly twisted around, accentuating the delicate arch in her back as her left hand clutched the frets of her Duesenberg Starplayer TV, which she had lovingly dubbed Marlene. She grimaced at the sight of him. "...this long, and that's all you have to say to me? You haven't even written, bastard." She growled under her breath as her platform boots slid apart a little bit. "I won't let you lay a finger on him."

X looked around. It was so painful to look at, but there was a job to be done. "I guess I'd better get to it. Looks like the worst of it is to the east, so I'll head there." X took off in a run, ready to face his destiny.

Ryu
Ryu gazed out over the skyline of the city from the rooftop. Somewhere in the city was the man who wielded the Sword of Chaos... apparently. Ryu didn't feel the evil aura of the blade anywhere nearby, and he certainly hadn't seen or heard any obvious signs. Perhaps the rumors were untrue?
And yet, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something to them. The Sword of Chaos had been missing for many years now, and it was one of his clan's most important responsibilities to recover it. Even if these rumors turned out to be a hoax, he couldn't take the chance of simply ignoring them without investigating. Besides, ever since he had arrived in America, he had felt like someone was watching him. It was especially strong right now...
"Hayabusa!"
Ryu whirled around at the shout, only to face a group of armed men that had snuck up behind him. How did I not sense their approach?
"It's time for you to die, Hayabusa!" snarled one of the men. They began to attempt to encircle him, each brandishing a bat or large club. Ryu warily drew his sword, and when he saw a gap in their ranks, leapt back so as not to get surrounded. The men immediately shouted a wordless battlecry, waving their clubs in the air as they charged at him...

I-No
Sol remained expressionless as he drew his sword.
"I don't feel like playing your games," he replied, an edge of annoyance creeping into his voice, "If you won't get out of my way, I'll have to MAKE you move."

X
As X headed east, he could see the first group of rampaging mechanoids emerge into clear view from the smoke. It seemed to mostly consist of small flyers that resembled dragonflies, which zipped around seemingly aimlessly. However, there was one large, ground-based mechanoid among them; it was a large bipedal unit with no arms, but bristling with weaponry, obviously designed solely for combat. Even as he approached, the mechanoids paid him no heed; instead, the combat unit fired a salvo of missiles into a damaged vehicle nearby, causing it to explode into little more than a cloud of shrapnel and a burning chassis. X instinctively shielded his face from the blast with his arms, but he was too far away to have been hit by any significant wreckage.
The mechanoids continued to ignore him, and the combat unit turned its weapons toward another damaged vehicle...

"Cocky bastard...I'll enjoy rubbing that smug face of yours in the mud!" She growled as she lowered herself a bit, tipping her hat down over her eyes. She continued to clutch Marlene's neck in her slender fingers as her hips began to bounce to some unheard rhythm, and then she shot forward towards him, seeming to glide along the ground.

I-no grinned madly as she rushed head on towards him, only to grind those massive platform heels to a halt and stand erect. A speaker would erupt from the ground underneath her right foot, and as she slammed a note on Marlene, the very sound itself coming from the speaker would cry out, powerful enough to send Sol airborne.

X knew that these things were simply a symptom of the problem. He needed to find the cause. Buster at the ready, he decided to try to get past them unnoticed, thinking that if he found whoever was controlling them, they would shut down on their own.

Ryu observed that there were four men, if he were to defeat them he would have to isolate them, and take them down. As there was no way in hell he would beat four of them at his current state. As the men moved closer, Ryu moved his left leg back, they were muscle heads, and they moved clumsily, but clickly enough that he would not want to stay around for long.
(Attempting to Escape, but I do not have a die at my fathers house.)
