Sonic is confirmed? Awesome.
I'm totally buying this game on release day. Not that Sonic changed that decision any, but yeah. I have a hunch that this game is going to sell a lot of somewhat still hesitant people on the Wii (just like Melee moved a lot of GCNs, or at least mine).

Lets not forget the online play and stage builder. Those are also pretty awesome

I'm very disappointed that there is no gyroscopicness in the controls, it's entirely button-based. Otherwise the first 30 minutes of versus mode has been interesting, though I haven't been very impressed with the new characters (at least the ones initially available to you. Pit was pretty fun but the others were somewhat /meh).

Though I must add, Adventure Mode looked pretty substantial this time around. In Melee it didn't look that impressive, just sort of like a gimmick, but in Brawl it seems pretty developed and there's actually sort of a plot going on. Makes me wish there was a game devoted solely to this adventure mode: a full Smash Brothers game like Castlevania/Metroid/Mario/etc+++

This game is awesome. I was hoping that they would flesh out adventure mode after Melee, and it does not disappoint. As for the new characters (at least the initially available ones; the only character I've unlocked so far is Marth), I think Pit is pretty awesome, Lucas, MetaKnight, and Pokemon Trainer are all right. The rest that I've used, I don't care for that much; Ike is slow and tends to get blasted away pretty easily, and Diddy seems to lack any reasonable degree of power. Zero Suit Samus is also pretty lousy, but then, she's supposed to be a penalty for executing Samus's final smash anyway.
I'm likely to be playing this game a lot for a while, though; expect my opinions to be reevaluated as time goes on.

Hey now, Diddy Kong's got that awesome banana peel tossing thing that ultimately does no good but is annoying enough to piss off your friends (and you can even pick them up and throw them). And he's got the pea shooter that really doesn't look all that powerful. And best of all he's got that forward+B move where he shrieks and goes flying across the level, grabs the opponents face and slaps them silly across the stage.
I was really stoked when in multi-player mode a giant Rosseti Speech Bubble came up over the whole screen and he went on a giant rant. 'Twas awesome.

I haven't seen the Resetti effect yet, that sounds awesome. Have you been slobbered on by a Nintendog yet?

Not personally, though I've seen it in advertisements.
Sigh. I think this is perhaps the first Wii game that I've really felt the motivation to play and explore to its fullest. I got a few-hour taste of it on launch night but now I've been separated from the Wii and can no longer play it (it's my brother's, so he keeps it at home and I only play when I'm on break).
Almost makes me want to frivolously spend the rest of my money on one.

Its alright I don't really like how slow it seems now and I can't seem to stand playing it on the wiimotes (classic nor regular with nunchuck).

I always use the GCN controller, the Wiimote / Nunchuck controls are pretty non-intuitive, at least to me anyway. I haven't tried the Classics Controller yet, but that probably works pretty well too.
I don't get the "slow" comment though, unless you play as Samus anyway. I notice her jumps sort of "hover" in the air really slowly now.
