I know nothing about Run-DMC, but I must say that Hard Mode really is hard, and I'm on the verge of giving it up entirely. I'm at the second sub-boss before the boss of the fourth stage, and it keeps owning me because I can't ever see the son of a bitch due to horrible camera angles, and I keep dying. I've beaten it 2/11 times -- the first time I decided to try the secret mission and got my ass handed to me, the second time I just barely didn't beat the boss. It's harder, and surenly different, but not worth it for me to play through on hard.

Recent purchases:
Far Cry (PC) Call of Cthulu (PC) Custom Robo: Arena (DS) Best of: RPG - Knight Shift - The Mystery of Janatris - Jack Orlando - Another War - Gorky17 - Septerra Core
The Best of thing was $10 with a bunch of low-budget games I've never really heard of. Figure I can get a couple of decent ones out of that. Almost got HL2 but decided to try to wait for the GOTYE edition/whatever it is (with HL:Source, HL2, etc etc) to drop to <$30.

I've heard Septerra Core is pretty good, but that was somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 years ago...
Are we still updating this? If so, my list has changed significantly.

I've been using it as a means to keep track of games I want to buy. There are a few DS games coming out that I'm interested in. Still got a few more months on Two Worlds.
On a side-note, I should look into what's up with the site skin.
EDIT: Supposedly I exceeded my daily bandwidth. I'll give that a couple more days and then I'll probably register a new account somewhere >.<

Custom Robo: Arena (DS) is pretty nifty. I really liked the GameCube game, and so far I'm enjoying the DS game more. It's basically the exact same combat engine/controls though they've added a few (limited) ways to incorporate the touch screen. The game also feels more RPG-esque (you get EXP and $$, and there're more opportunities to wander around and talk to people). The GCN one was kind of lame because you didn't have much control outside of the fights, but the DS version is a lot better on that.
Planning to buy a couple of older games off the internet soon. I was thinking about buying a PSP -- there are more action-RPGs/dungeon-crawlers for it with more mature atmospheres, but I'm not sure if it's worth the investment. Not to mention that'll be the fourth portable electronic I'll be toting around >.<
EDIT: So I went on Amazon to check prices on: Obscure, Fallout (1&2), Planescape: Torment, System Shock (1&2), and VTM: Redemption -- subtotal for all of the above (minus System Shock 2): $187.82 + S&H = OW. Most of these games have hit the point in time where they're old enough that their new, retail price has dropped down to $10 and risen back to $50 as availability decreases. Blarg. (Those are for new copies, not used)

Ordered, and should be arriving in 1-6 days:
PsychoToxic ObsCure Doom CE System Shock 2 No One Lives Forever
Seems I've wound up buying a bunch of FPS/first-person adventure/horror games lately. I never actually owned the original Doom titles (though I extensively played the first one at a friend's house, and never really played Doom 2 or Final Doom), so it's cool to be getting them now. I wound up not ordering the Fallout Bundle (comes with 1, 2, and Tactics) or Planescape (comes with Torment and something called Soulbringer) because they costed $95+S&H together, and I didn't want to spend that kind of money on two games (when I was also buying 6 others).
Oh, and I'm going out to GameStop to see if I can get a copy of Etrian Odyssey tomorrow. I like the Wizardry games, so it would be cool to have a Wizardry-esque game for the DS.

Wow, that's embarassing that the games are so expensive. I got Fallout 1 & 2 years ago in a pack-in deal for $20, and they've been gathering dust for a while (I should really pick them up again, they were so good). Maybe it's time to revive the perfect//Exchange?

Those prices were if I were to get the bran new in-retail-box with manual copies -- I could shave off $20 if I got the in-jewel-case with nothing else copies. The Fallout prices aren't that bad, as it would seem they've recently put up new retail copies for $20+S&H, though Planescape is still $40-50 for the jewel-case-nothing-else copy.
--> got Etrian Odyssey, I expect it'll be a couple of days/a week before I actually get around to playing it. I bought it so quickly because Atlus doesn't usually release a lot of its games, especially not their RPGs; they're hard to find if you don't get them within a month after release (or even 2 weeks).

i always wanted to try NOLF. and system shock 2 is a great game, but these days i don't have the concentration and willpower to get through a section i get stuck in, so consequently i'm stuck on the ship you first escape from..

NOLF have been pretty enjoyable. It reminds me a lot of DX and PD in different ways.
My only gripe is every couple of scenes (each mission is broken into 3-4 parts, simialar to what PD does), the game will refuse to load the next one. Best I can do is re-install every time it does that.

that's bizarre. were there any patches released at all?

None that seemed to address any technical issues of the single player game -- the patches/downloads I see on the main webpage seem to all be things to fix/add to the multi-player.

although you never know, sometimes things in patches that aren't mentioned fix your issues too. happened to me once, but i guess it's pretty rare..

Beat Custom Robo: Arena and am doing the end-game grudge matches/challenges. They're pretty amusing to sit down and play for 30 minutes during down-time in something else, but they get pretty enervating after that.
Now Playing: Etrian Odyssey. Good ol' Wizardry-esque RPG, and perhaps the only *good* **true** RPG on the DS, and one of the few (if the only?) of these style of RPGs released in the past couple of years.
