So I recently reinstalled Diablo with the Hellfire expansion on my computer and since I couldn't recall what the deal was with the monk I searched the interweb for what the deal was with the monk class. Clicking on the first result I soon found out that the monk wasn't the only class added to diablo via the expansion. They also added the classes of Bard and Barbarian by means of an easter-egg patch.
The Bard used the Rogue's avatar and had the ability to dual wield weapons, as well as the ability to identify items and different starting stats.
The Barbarian used the warrior's avatar and had the ability to use the rage skill. The rage skill was an essential stat boost. His ability with maces and axes were raised with quicker attack speeds. Further with each level up he gained 2 hit points and +1 to all resistances. The big trick about him being he has no magic.
The patch also included two bonus quests including the famed cow level.
I'm not sure if this is all common knowledge or not, but I was fairly shocked by the fact I hadn't heard about the hidden content.

Hm. I was never able to find the Hellfire pack for the original before I got bored with it, and by the time it was relevant again, Diablo 2 was being released. Oh well.
