The Nexus
Just off to the side the pair would find a nice chunk of open space. Not quite a training area, but it would be perfectly utilized as such, as it didn't seem the professor was making use of it.

They entered the room. Tommy looked at lucario, and bowed.

Lucario looked around at the area, quickly familiarizing himself with his surroundings. Seeing Tommy was ready he respectfully stood at attention and bowed as well. Calming his aura he settled into a fighting stance. His piercing gaze held fast on Tommy.

"All right. Let's begin." Tommy said as he leapt in and threw a side kick at lucario to get their friendly little match started.

The lucario lowered his stance, preparing for the attack as Tommy came at him. He still wasn't sure what the human expected, or what he could even handle. Humans were usually frail right?
Holding back some of his strength for the moment he spun and tried to match Tommy's attack with a kick of his own!

As their kicks connected, Tommy notice that Lucario's felt weak. Was he holding back. Perhaps in a world where his kind do the fighting, he was used to washer humans.
"Don't hold back with me." He told the pokemon. "I can take it."

Lucario blinked as the kick had more force than he expected. With a small smirk he leapt back from the stalemate and nodded before lowering into another fighting stance. In a flash the canine charged Tommy, his paws flashing with a flurry of blows. However, lucario was careful not to lead with his spikes.
