IIRC Draxxy and someone else were babbling on about different kinds of acid and their effects (fatal vs non-fatal). Well, feast your eyes on this.

www.cowboybooks.com.au/html/acidtrip1.html"9 drawings done by an artist under the influence of LSD -- part of a test conducted by the US government during it's dalliance with psychotomimetic drugs in the late 1950's. The artist was given a dose of LSD 25 and free access to an activity box full of crayons and pencils. His subject is the medico that jabbed him."

Actually, despite my intentional ambiguity, I did once write a paper on this subject, and I cited as one of my sources that very link Altl. 'Tis a small internet eh? d-:

Have fun sounding like a moron. I've yet to hear someone's playing/composing improve while high, but feel free to be the first. Make sure you record the whole thing, so you can hear it later when you're no longer high and laugh at your own inanity. My bet is that you won't even be able to play once it really kicks in, thus the reason that marijuana is the drug of choice for the musicians I know who get lit up before concerts.

i think it's more about the trips you have than what you do while you're on it. quite mind opening, according to the people i know who've done it.. so we'll see. i've done weed and played before.. it's a lot of fun, but it's not this whole "flourishing creativity" thing people rant on about it being. it just makes the physical act of playing and playing with people much more entertaining and fulfilling, but it's not some kind of creative steroids as people brand it to be.

That is precisely what I was getting at - drugs will make YOU feel good, but for those of us with absolute pitch and an ear for composition, what you're playing is more likely to sound worse, not better. All they do is alter the way you perceive your own playing.
Also, I do recall Steve Jobs saying that he recommended dropping acid at least once in your lifetime. I don't share that recommendation, but it's rather interesting nonetheless. Just make sure you hide your cell phone/car keys etc before you do it, and hope you don't have a bad trip.

according to a few nobel prize winners, we would not have the medical technology we have today if it weren't for scientists doing LSD. seems like one of the better psychoactives there are to be honest, and i'm looking forward to giving it a shot.
