we're getting slack
how was everybody's new year? and how did you welcome in 2008?
i got pretty well intoxicated, cut my finger open playing acoustic guitar very innacurately to led zeppelin while drunk, refrained from railing a 15 year old and then got home and fell asleep on the floor. the next night we spent the entire evening watching horror movies and drinking again.
sweet.
i'm rather interested to see if ranger can top me.

I spent New Years the same way I spend every night of holiday - lots of recording, practicing, remastering, composing, etc fueled by unhealthy amount of caffeine. I never really got into the whole New Year thing, seems like kind of a pointless celebration, like birthdays and Christmas. d-:

Spent new year's with the girlfriend; haven't been able to do that in a few years, what with not having one. I actually enjoyed new year's for the first time in a long time, which I suspect is not simple coincidence.

pointless celebrations rock. and new year's is the best one. christmas is more like.. family time. and that was what i planned to do with it draxas, but agaaaain, she couldn't make it. D: so i got unhealthily drunk instead. worked for me. good for you though, man. i find actually having a good relationship just makes life so much better in general.

I did it backwards, had a really quiet New Years and a really rockin' Christmas.
Christmas Party highlights: -Red Necks with a disco ball and statue of Elvis -lots of Vodka and Coca Cola, my third cup kept refilling itself by magic except I don't think it was the coke par that was getting refilled -getting awkwardly hit on by a 15 year old (common themes?) - Met Jesus, well someone that looked like him - Backed Jesus's mother up as she game him a lecture on life - Sang Karaoke, CCR- Proud Mary. I might mention that there was no Karaoke Machine and I was the only one that got up to sing. Although, people joined in. - Had a lamp almost fall on my head, was saved by Jesus who caught it. - awkwardly called home to explain I wasn't coming home - Urinated in a cup because the bathroom was taken and I couldn't get outside because someone fell asleep in front of the door.
I might add that it was a friend's family's Christmas party so I assumably was the only person not related to them. We were supposed to leave the party half way though, but I was having too much fun so she left without me.
New Year's Highlights - Stole a Pizza from exwork I Am Legend with Nick (straight guy seating rules applied) Star Fox Adventures till 8am

that sounds like one hell of a party. and the 15 year old thing gets a bit awkward. you don't know whether it's morally let alone legally right, haha.
i managed to vomit and urinate at the same time. it was a sight to behold.
how was i am legend? heard it was.. ok.

I Am Legend was a decent movie, in that is was enjoyable while not being absolute garbage and not being particularly breath-taking, 7/10. I liked the "survival" aspect of it, but then the real hardcore survival (we're going to get killed right now if we don't stop them) aspect ended a little prematurely. Makes me want to read the book that I bought several months ago.

^Sounds about right although after thinking about it some more and noticing the plot holes I'd probably give it a 6/10 instead.
Fortunately after a short while, her dad showed up and made her go to bed.

I Am Legend is a good movie if you feel in the mood to see a movie, but not a movie that you go to see for the sake of seeing that movie.

I spent New Years at a college party getting wasted on Jack and Coke with my girlfriend.

Speaking of jack and coke, I get a real kick out of going to open bars and asking for a virgin rum and cola. The expression on the bartender's face is usually priceless. Did I mention that I do a lot of weddings with open bars? d-:
Incidentally, I just picked up I Am Legend (the book) for like 8 bucks. Hopefully when I see the movie I won't feel obligated to shake my fist in anger as Will Smith ruins yet another great piece of literature (I, Robot anyone?).

inorite? I, Robot was the bottom of the barrel though, or at least that's what I'm hoping. I'm halfway through the book (I Am Legend) and I'm gonna' go see the movie as soon as I finish (either that or wait for an Axxo rip).
