lol we could do real time just not on IRC more like in a forest or a easy up building where we just put up a bunch of one sided walls in a mazish thing. Not quite PD but definitely BA. Minus the live ammo.

Nothing good can come from IRC.
Just... leave it at that.

Now, to keep from being a n00b and putting a one-word-reply, I'll type this sentence.
So there!

eh its still a good pass time hobby but it really just helped me develop some skills in something I may never actually use XD. Anyway it was good for building character and making some awesome friends. and as for the attempted suicide.
*random F2 bullet deflects the bullet making its way quickly to Merlin's head and ricochets hitting the barrel askew to fly harmlessly by Merlin's ear and a second shot hits the gun clean out of hand*

No! The great PDBA! How can it be dying. This is not good. I agree IRC isn't the way to go. We'd all need to be on at the same time and if everyone has bust schedules it simply wouldn't work and thered be almost no battles. Just keep it here on this forum that way everyone can post whenever they can.
I should probably get reinvolved. I probably cant be called a PDBA Veteran. I'll admit that I am not that good but still I try my best. I've been on the PDBA topics on gamefaqs from when they were on the perfect dark general board, then social and the secret boards we used which were simply dead boards for games noone liked or played to the current alien gate. I've never won battles and I guess my posts arent that good. I'm more of a walking target and really only good for target practice. Most of you guys here probably don't even know kidgame2001. I have posted on the gamefaqs PBDA's. I've read every post on them. I might not have posted every day and in most of the arenas that reached 500 posts I only had probably 10 or so total posts so it does show that I dont post on it much but I do show the interest. On this forum Ive only posted on the Last man standing battles and of the regular PDBA battles probably 2 or 3 posts total out of this whole year of 2004 and since i joined in like march or february or whenever it was.
I dont know why I never posted a lot nor why I dont post a lot now. I still do read every post. Maybe its because everyone is just better at it then me and everyones posting style is just better then mine which I guess doesnt make sense. Maybe because its that people either ignored my posts completely or they ganged up on me and killed me all the time not giving me a chance but then again it is just a game and doesnt matter who wins or loses just that you try your best.

PDBA is a pure RP game. Nobody's keeping score, I learned that a long time ago.
You need to shed your fear. Everyone here has a different style of posting, and nobody's is necessarily better than anyone else's. Just jump in, and then force yourself to post at least once per page. That should keep you active enough to keep up with the rest of the group with no trouble.
But if you simply lurk, and rarely post, you'll never get involved that way.

Tell me something: Have you got a better idea? I miss the arenas. I miss the times when there were a whole bunch of us who really cared about making these arenas fun. I look back at the old CC arenas, and it makes me remember the good times we had (just be glad I haven't reread the CISOD yet). I look back at Generations, and it just makes me a bit uncomfortable.
That might be because it's still fresh in my mind. Maybe it's because I realize now that I chose a very poor character concept and design. Perhaps it's because an inordinate amount of arena time is devoted to Evolution-style material. Or maybe it's just because I see so many of the people I had hoped would be active posters, post 2 or 3 times and simply quit.
I should think it's common knowledge that I value the feedback of board members very highly. Why is this the first time I'm hearing that this is a bad idea?
When it all comes down to it, I just want to get people engaged in this again. The means hardly matter. If more people are willing to post in a Generations arena than an old-style one, then I'll switch the format post-haste. Whatever gets people in here again, it doesn't make a spit of difference to me.

I honestly don't care either, I just want people to shoot in the face through words.
