(OOC: Nice Coalition banner Nick. Makes me proud to be on the team...
Scar led his contact to a parking lot outside and Scar turned to face him. "Ok, what's the deal." He opened a briefcase and gave him a folder. "We want you to assasinate the man whos infomation is in this folder. Snakelord Inc. is expect a large sum of money for doing this and you'll get some should you pull it off. We're putting a lot of trust onto you're shoulders Scar, don't let us down."
Scar nodded and placed a hand on the mans shoulder. "Never fear, I'll get the job done, and I'll get you a picture of the body to top it all off." Scar slipped the folder into a sachel bag. "Gotta split, see you around."
Scar disappeared quietly into an alley...
(Sorry bout the short post, got stuff to do...)

Notek and Razor watched as the blue and white sphere of earth popped into view.
“We’ve got to find her before it’s too late!” Notek said anxiously. Razor turned and gave him an odd look.
“Too late for what?” Notek, still flipping dials and switches on the console in front of them, viciously explained.
“The normal symbiotic physique is incapable of being respawned. I had to do a lot of careful studying of the technology before I was able to participate in the arenas. What I discovered was, the respawn mechanism will only respawn Athena, and not her symbiote.” He stopped and turned towards Razor, looking him in the eye. “Separation from your symbiote is the most painful death known to a warrior of the SHC. If we do not reach her in time, she will die . . .” As Notek turned back to the screens of the ship, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t worry . . . we will find her in time . . . I can feel it . . .”
* * *
Stryker screamed with anger as the small form shot out from the darkness and hit his rocket launcher, dragging him along with it. Somewhat disoriented, the angry biomechanical being stood and began to fire rockets in seemingly random directions. The homing missiles locked on to the only person not in a metal suit: Athena. Agily she danced across the field as it collapsed around her, dodging both the missiles and the flak alike. During the slight pause that Stryker took to reload, she dashed the final distance towards Dahak, and put her hand on his arm. There was a sudden, blinding light, and when his vision cleared, he saw a fearsome weapon indeed.
“Just as we discussed” Athena said hurriedly.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“We don’t have time to debate it, do we?”
“ . . .”
It was at this time that a skedar vehicle began it’s landing process. None of the combatants were paying it any special attention, in direct enigma to it’s occupants. They on the other hand, watched as if in a trance, as Stryker fired five homing rocket missiles, all of which hit their target. They watched as pieces of dark symbiotic flesh and dark green biosuit armor mixed together in the shrapnel that followed. They watched as the chaos cannon, that weapon which could have destroyed Stryker, fell to the ground. Detached from it’s operator, the weapon was useless.
And Athena was dead.
Satisfied, Stryker began to power down his weapon systems.
“Three mutants exterminated, today surely is a good day . . .” It was then that he noticed the large ship preparing to land. Or, to be more specific, he noticed a small, screaming figure, jump through the wall of the ship, and begin to fall towards the ground directly in front of Stryker. Powering up weapons, he scanned the figure as it fell.
“His signatures are almost identical to those of Athena!” It was then that something reached his audio sensors. The sound of a single word, screamed at a level far beyond something that any mere human was capable of. It overwhelmed him, made him dizzy. The sound of a single, desparate, no.
The boy landed in front of him. Despite his small, wiry frame, he somehow managed to survive a 500 foot fall onto concrete. The concrete itself had formed a small crater around him. Stryker began to chuckle to himself.
“Why exactly do they allow physically immature human beings to participate in these things?” He lifted his gatling gun in the child’s direction. “Go now, before your mother gets worried.”
“Hear me, you giant metal creature.” The boy’s voice was surprisingly loud and clear. “Today you have taken the lives of many. I feel that it is time to end this reign of terror.” He reached for the small red crystal at his neck, previously un-noticed. Then his eyes began to glow, and Stryker watched as the boy changed appearance.
At first the changes were subtle. His hair was growing longer, becoming whiter. His eyes went from an ice blue, to a deep purple, then to a red. A bright red. A deep burning red, one that burned deeper than all the fires that Stryker had ever cared to witness. And then he was gone.
Or, to be more specific, he was now behind Stryker. It took him a moment to discover this. Approximately 2.33 seconds to be more exact. It helped that there was a strip of melted pavement in a semicircle angling towards the boy’s new location. Stryker felt powerful hands grab him from behind and spin him around by the legs. The figure instantly scampered up onto his face. Ignoring the consoles that beeped in warning of the intense heat that his movement on Stryker’s hull had caused, Stryker stared, not yet in a state of terror, as the boy ripped off the suit’s head. Quickly realizing what was happening, Stryker felt his already-weakened arm separate from his biosuited body. He quickly tried to grab the being with his other arm, but he’d already moved on. Deprived of visual input, Stryker suddenly felt an impending sense of doom press down on him. His fears were confirmed when the front of his suit was pried open, and the light of a new day shone down onto him.
Stryker glanced at the panels again, hardly noticing that both of his legs were gone. He was nothing now. The intense heat of someone moving at that speed had fried most of the controls, and so it was with horror that he watched a thin silhouette make it’s way over him. The red glow was gone, only a small child remained. A child that looked not unlike . . .
“Were you a friend of Athena’s?”
The boy shook his head in sadness. “I was her father . . .” And he grabbed the shriveled body before him and shook it. “And now she is DEAD!” Stryker gasped for air as the child pulled him from his suit. “I cannot think of a death comparable to that which you have caused her, and so I will simply kill you over . . . and over . . . and over again.” Stryker stared him in the eyes, and saw the storm . . . and he knew.
“You are . . . Notesurfer!” The boy threw him down and watched as vital fluids poured from his body.
“No . . . I am Notek . . . and I have returned . . .”

And Stryker bled to death...
Existence exploded around him once more, and he looked around with what was left of his own eyes. He was back inside his suit. He was whole again.
Stryker replayed the last scene in his mind. He mused that he had been able to put together coherent thoughts during the ordeal. His mind had been filled with only one thing at the time; raw, unadulterated panic.
He picked my suit apart, and dragged me out of it, Stryker considered, He could have left me alone then, helpless and trapped here... Instead he killed me.
Stryker's ruin of a mouth turned up into a smile as much as possible. I'll have to thank him later.
Stryker finally took stock of his surroundings. Dark grey water flowed sluggishly around the ankles of the suit, though the center of a drainage culvert that he had respawned directly in the middle of. He saw an access path ahead to his left, and began to head that way, as he continued to mull over recent events.
So, Notesurfer is here. In typical mutant fashion, his appearance is less than impressive, but it hides fearsome powers indeed... Still, of anyone, he is most likely to know the information I require. He claims that he will come to kill me again; I welcome the opportunity.
The ruin of a face turned up in a grin once more, as the hulking form of Stryker's battlesuit stepped onto the main road once more...

OOC: Draxas I hope I didn't come off too strongly. This is the closest to gmoding I've ever come, but I feel that I had more than ample reason (due to the death of his daughter). Anyway yea . . . I may bring Oasis back into the picture, haven't decided yet.

DaHaK looked up from where he sat, suddenly aware of his surroundings.
"Wait a second..."
quickly realising he was no longer on the landing feild, he pieced together what exactly had happened.
"no..."
He popped the access panel on his arm cannon and quickly discovered what he feared to be true, the Chaos Emerald Shards hadn't respawned with him. he keyed the network restart on his suit's uplink to his ship, and watched anxiously as his suit reacquired his connection. as soon as the ship returned his signal, he called up the ship's scans of the area.
"Caseum, where exactly am I, and whats the quickest way back to that landing bay?"
::Accessing roadway schematics, Please wait::
There was a tense silence as the AI pieced together a route through the city.
::Requested action has been completed, uploading HUD overlay now... ::
Ahead of him, the road began to glow with an orange hue.
::Upload completed, awaiting furhter instructions::
"Thats all I need for now, but if you can, try and do a scan of the area and see if you can find out if the shards are still there... oh and see if the cyborg that attacked us is still there as well."
::Acknowledged, beginning scan::
DaHaK started off down the road, and hoped silently to himself someone had finished the job he'd started, but he'd find out soon enough...

Notek heard Dahak approaching before he saw him, his metal suit clacking on the pavement. The small figure rounded a corner and was shocked to be looking almost eye to eye with a blonde-haired boy. Wordlessly Notek handed him his Chaos Cannon.
“What happened, where’s Athena?” Dahak’s words rushed out in a jumble. As he waited for Notek’s reply he silently sent the signal to Caseum to scan him.
“Stryker and Athena are dead . . . Athena permanently so.” Notek’s voice showed no trace of emotion, although his face betrayed his feelings. Dahak opened his mouth to question him further when a beep in his headset alerted him to the results of his scan. If one could have seen inside his helmet, one would have noticed the shock that ran over his face.
“You . . . the genetic similarities . . . the physical characteristics . . .” and then it dawned on him. “You were her father!” Notek turned his face away and began to stride away from Dahak. Rushing after him, Dahak sputtered “You’re the Notesurfer of legend, you survived through the second and third generations of the PDBA!” Notek kept on walking. “You can’t just leave now, you vowed revenge on Stryker!” At this, Notek stopped and turned on Dahak.
“I allowed myself in my rage . . . in my stupidity . . . to be possessed by the Crystal of Darkness” Notek snapped. “I am extremely unstable right now, I advise you not to push me.” Dahak followed him in silence, reattaching his Chaos Cannon. More quietly this time, he questioned Notek.
“Why did she die? I thought that the respawn technologies allowed anyone in the arena to be resurrected.”
“Athena and her symbiote were read as separate entities. When she respawned, she was without her symbiote, just as you were without your sub-sentient crystal shards. The difference is, no one has ever survived the death of their symbiote.” Notek stopped and stared Dahak in the face.
“No one.”

Notek turned, and began to walk away. but just as he reached the end of the block, DaHaK called out to him
"wait a minute, i see why you want to leave, you're too weak, you lost the strength of your own human body because you have your symbiote to save you, but if it were gone, and you didnt have your all powerful symbiote, there would be nothing left of you because you let it take over."
Notek turned back to him, anger showing in his eyes, but dahak continued on in an effort to save himself from the verbal grave he'd just dug.
"That is why stryker hates you all so much, because he sees you as weak, he sees athena as weak, and he sees me as weak. because i cant live without my suit, and you wont live without your symbiote and athena wouldnt live without hers."

OOC: ^ HA! The irony is killing me! ;D
"Oh, you're quite mistaken," Stryker's speakers boomed out over the pair, as the battlesuit descended from the rooftop of a nearby building, its fall cushioned by the built in jump jets. Both men whirled to face him, Dahak aiming his cannon, and Notesurfer simply bristling with fury, "This has nothing to do with weakness as you percieve it."
The battlesuit touched down on the pavement with a crunch, sending spidery cracks stretching from the point of impact. Stryker readied his weapons, but made no move to attack yet. The others had not reacted yet either, though their reasons remained their own.
"I see none of you as weak in the way you expect," Stryker continued, "Just as I do not percieve myself as weak for the same reasons. And you," the combatant database finally matched a name to the appearance, and displayed it on Stryker's HUD, "Dahak, as far as I know, you're just a fool, fighting for the wrong side."
"The others, though, they are weak. They're weak at the genetic level, a weakness that corrupts humanity, body, mind, and spirit. They are mutants," as always, he spat the word as if it were the foulest curse that could cross one's lips, "and are the most dangerous corruptions of the natural order. So I hunt them, to the last. It's what I do."
"So, Notesurfer," Stryker concluded, his ruin of a face shifting to a twisted mockery of a sneer, though unseen by all, "when I exterminate one, just remember that it's my job, nothing personal."

Churning with anger, the crystal at Notek’s chest hesitantly began to glow. Notek closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself, the glow instantly dissipating. Turning sideways to Dahak he advised him not to continue.
“I cannot fight him.”
“What, why not?” Dahak incredulously took a step towards Notek.
“I have already endangered these people, including yourself and myself, by allowing myself to be possessed by the Crystal of Darkness. It’s powers cannot be taken lightly Dahak. If I fight to kill, I may kill more than just Stryker . . .” Notek laid a hand on Dahak’s shoulder. “If you wish, I can stall long enough for you to escape. It has been a long time since I felt the pain of death. Perhaps I am in need of it . . . for only death is sufficient escape from the torture my existence has become.” Notek turned to face Stryker, and his fists burst aflame.
“It has been far too long indeed . . .”

"You wish for death?" Stryker nearly laughed, despite the display of pyrotechnics, "I would be more than happy to oblige you!"
Stryker loosed a storm of ammunition from his machine gun at the diminuitive figure. With surprising agility, he dashed ahead of the stream of shells, tossing balls of flame at the armored figure. Stryker didn't attempt to dodge; the high heat tolerance of the armor dissipated the flames as they hit with no damage done. Instead, he raised his left palm as he kept up the deadly rain of bullets, and carefully tracked the swift-moving figure as he twisted the torso of his suit nearly 180 degrees around to keep track of him. He finally let a single laser blast fly. It impacted into the pavement ahead of Notek, causing him to stop short to avoid it. The stream of shells caught up to him then, and he yelped and leapt into the air as they clipped his legs.
And then he was gone. Stryker had a fleeting impression that his target had melted into a black oil, and then he was nowhere to be seen at all. Stryker twisted back into neutral position, and began to perform a visual search, augmented with infrared... But there was nothing. He spotted Dahak behind some nearby cover, watching and fiddling with his arm cannon, but not getting involved. Stryker ignored him, and continued to search for his quarry, but there was no evidence that he was ever here save for the still glowing impact sites of Stryker's weapons in the dull red of IR vision.
"Where have you gone, Notesurfer?" Stryker called out, almost in a singsong fashion, "You said you wanted to die, so why don't you face your fate with courage? It's because you're a cowardly, pathetic mutant, that's why. You're all the same." Stryker sneered beneath the suit's armored visor.
"You know what?" he continued, still searching for his target, "I must confess, I lied to you just before. Remember how I said this wasn't personal? Well, it is. Very personal. I may know your name only from the records, and I never knew nor cared about her name at all, but by God this is personal."
"Mutants cause nothing but pain and suffering to good, honest, innocent folk. I've seen the corpses of thousands of innocents, slaughtered without mercy by the dark powers and madness of your kind. I am the storm of vengeance, that takes blood for blood. I can feel the souls of the unjust dead cry out for it, every one of them. The souls of men, women, and children from all walks of life," Fury began to edge into Stryker's voice, only partially because of the frustration of being unable to find his target, "The souls of MY wife, MY kids, of EVERYBODY I once knew, and my OWN DEAD SOUL from the day I was reborn! I am their revenge, I am their reaper, and every time I snuff out another one of you abominations, I can feel them thanking me!"
Stryker was about to continue, when he spotted something odd near the bottom of his HUD display... At that moment, all hell in internal alarms broke loose inside his suit, and he instictively fired the jump jets to send the suit upward and backward. As he did so, glowing blades burst forth from the pavement beneath him, leaving deep but only cosmetic gashes in the suit's leg armor.
"What the...?" muttered Stryker inside the confines of the suit as he skidded to a landing several hundred feet away. He deactivated the IR, and the blades were revealed to be ebon black. They climbed and snaked around each other as they seemed to grow and multiply, alive, from the pavement... And then just as quickly coalesced and reformed into the diminuitive figure of Notek.
He stood, wordlessly, with fists clenched. The storm raged within his eyes...

OOC: And then the tension was broken, as a loud "EEERGH!" echoed from within the confines of a port-o-potty near the edge of the battlefield. Both Notesurfer and Stryker broke down laughing, and then went to get a beer at the Pond Punk and talk out their problems and differences.
And the day was saved!
Ten minutes later, the winged figure of Razor was seen emerging, rather disshevelled looking, from the port-o-potty. Nikara greeted him with, "I told you to watch what you eat, Dad!" They laughed, sitcom-like, as they walked off into the sunset...
Dahak looked around, found everyone to be gone, shrugged, and left.
Scar eventualy assassinated his target. It had nothing to do with the PDBA anyway, so nobody cared.
Solorn eventually respawned, realized everyone was missing and that he was royalty, and left to rule the Skedar gloriously for hundreds of years to come.
N3B and his hologram disc died horrifically in a freak meteor impact, because he's a LAZY, FILTHY LIAR.
And they all lived happily ever after, THE END. ;D
