OOC: real quick-like.
Wielding her dual assault rifles, Salen continued down the wet streets of Chicago, heading for the scattering blue targets on her watch radar-display. She turned the corner and came face to face with a SWAT soldier. The soldier quickly looked up and down her and propped his shield up and slipped the nightstick from his waist.
"DROP THE GUNS!!" He shouted, with the intensity to fighten the armed civilian, also trying to grab the attention of the rest of the squad a few meters away. He held his position, fidgeting with the handle on the backside of the riot shield.
He looked through the thick plexiglass view-plate on the shield, keeping an eye on her hands.
"I SAID DROP THEM!"
He began to push foward, shield first. Salen back-handed the shield with her right hand, with enough force to knock the SWAT soldier onto his back, stunned at the sheer strength the civilian possessed. He quickly fixed the position of the shield as she sprayed bullets at him from a rifle, spraying ricochet bullets across the sidewalk and sparks off garbage cans.
4 more SWAT soldiers came from around the corner, shotguns, rifle, and shield drawn. Taking a quick glance at them, Salen threw her arm out at them and pointed the other rifle at the downed SWAT. With a flick of her fingers, metallic spears shot at each one, skewering them before any knew what had happened.
She turned to the 5th, still on the floor, and stopped the shield with her heel, shattering it. The man cowered under her as he started down the barrel of the rifle. With a few short bursts, his head exploded into brains and blood, splashed all over the walls.
Salen strode past the 4 SWAT's she had pinned to a wall with the spears, moving with more speed to gain lost ground on her targets.

“You laugh too much. Perhaps I should consider wiping that smile from your face.” Athena crouched slightly, tensing the muscles of her body beneath the black skintight suit. Nikara giggled again.
“Or maybe you just take things a little too seriously.” Spinning to gain momentum, she flung a combat knife straight for Athena’s heart. In turn Athena dodged to the side, but too late, the knife embedding itself in her upper arm. Gritting her teeth she pulled it out and rushed Nikara, swinging the knife wildly. Nikara’s eyes fixed themselves on the bloody blade, and she barely noticed out of the corner of her eye the Falcon 2 being brought into position as Athena bore down on her. Hastily drawing another knife she quickly knocked Athena’s stolen weapon to the side and shifted her weight just in time for a defensive kick. Unfortunately, the attack intended to disarm Athena of her gun was halted by her now-empty right hand.
“I’m a lot stronger than I look.” Athena said, grinning. She hefted the gun and fired. Just before she pulled the trigger Nikara kicked upwards again, causing Athena’s aim to waver. The shot went through Nikara’s foot and embedded itself in her shoulder, causing her to fall backwards in pain. Blood gushed from her foot, and she fell on her tailbone. Her wings jerked in a panicked frenzy as Athena rushed in for another blow. Rolling onto her stomach, and being sure to keep her injured foot off of the ground, she grasped her Mauler and, using her leg as a brace, fired an uncharged shot at Athena’s chest, tossing her back like a paper doll.
* * * “Holy cow, was that a mauler?”
“Hell yea, the new ones pack a huge punch, even uncharged.”
“Dang man, that’s crazy.”
“Yea I know really, I remember back when it practically took an entire combat boost to charge a mauler.”
“Heh yea, the good ol’ days.”
“Shush, I think their saying something . . .”

Snake arrived at the Pond Punk and attempted to get inside, but was held back by a bouncer.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Snake smirked. Where was he going? What an obviously stupid question.
"I'm off to make bombs for another anonymous Terror group."
The Bouncer looked daggers at him and came out with something equally stupid.
"Let's see your materials."
Snake sighed in exasperation and headed into the parking lot, he was going to have to enter another way...

Nikara had fallen back after the shot was fired, panting heavily as she bled onto the wet pavement. Athena was likewise sprawled out, battered and bleeding from the massive charred wound in her chest. "Heh...I suppose...I didn't quite give you enough credit, Nikara..."
The crimson-maned girl grinned weakly as she slowly fought herself up into a sitting position, her free hand gripping her bleeding shoulder tightly. "...and I wouldn't expect less from you Athena...the two of us, we've got the heritage..." She chuckled softly to herself...but was quickly interrupted by a bit of blood being coughed up over her lips.
Athena blinked a few times as her eyes trained upon Nikara's. She slowly, painfully managed to get herself upright as well, and continued to stare at the girl. "...yeah...we do...don't we?"
***
"Look at those two, bleeding all over the ground and laughing like giddy schoolgirls..."
"Well not quite..."
"Hmmm...think we should go patch them up?"
"Nah, they can handle it...she DID inherit your healing ability, right?"
"Yeah, but it's not quite as developed..."
"Oh..."

Stryker couldn't help but laugh inwardly. This little man... no, yet another mutant, as revealed by the incoming scans from the breach in Dahak's armor... was giving him far more trouble than he ever would have expected. Dozens of red warning blips highlighted problem areas in the suit's systems on the HUD after that last blast. Where he was from, Stryker's suit was the pinnacle of technology, an invincible engine of destruction... And here, it was slowly being rendered down into scrap by a single fighter, in armor even more advanced than his own.
Even if I fail to find the information I desire, thought Stryker, as he brought his weapons back into position and faced down his foe, A technology sample from this suit would make up for it for sure! Now, to figure out how to acquire it... The weapons were all powered normally, and the rocket launcher reacquired its target lock once more; they were, at least, more robust than some of the other systems.
Wordlessly, the battle began anew, with Dahak's autocannon and Stryker's machine gun both blasting back into life nearly simultaneously. Dahak was faring rather well with dodging, as he leapt away from the trail of shells; apparently his wounds were not severe at all. Stryker, however, was not faring so well. He wasn't sure he could stabilize himself if he tried using just the leg jets again, so he tried to dodge as well as the suit's legs could carry it. It amounted to making him little more than a slow, lumbering target, and the hail of shells pinged off of the heavy armor as even more warning light flared up on the HUD.
"ENOUGH!" shouted Stryker, as he loosed a stream of a half dozen tracking rockets at Dahak. The missiles streaked through the air, and Dahak dodged all of them easily with a sideways dive and roll, all the while sustaining the barrage of fire against Stryker's armor, which now began to spark as the first physical breaches began to emerge on its outer surface. However, the tracking mechanisms on the rockets adjusted their flight paths in such a way that each of the six curled back after Dahak from a different angle. As Dahak rose into a standing position once more, he spotted the rockets approaching fast once again, cutting off any opportunity for him to evade or escape...
Within the suit, Stryker was alarmed as the armor was breached. As Murphy's law would have it, almost immediately after, his neural link to one of the legs was severed, and he could only attempt to shamble away at a snail's pace as Dahak charged headlong at him, missiles in tow and closing fast. Stryker threw up his arms in an instinctual and futile attempt to shield his face from the oncoming fury...
Dahak leapt at the suit's chestplate, grabbed ahold of the front of the armor, jammed his arm cannon down the barrel of Stryker's rocket launcher, and fired a pulse from his plasma pulse cannon directly down the breach, just as all six missiles simultaneously converged on the back plate of his armor.
The resultant shockwave shook the foundations and blew out all the windows of every building within a block radius. It took several minutes for the cloud of dust to settle and the pavement shards to finally cease raining from the sky...

DaHaK opened his eyes and looked around slowly.
"Ah crap... not again... I havent been here for a full day and a half and I've been killed twice by the same guy."
He picked himself up off the pavement and opened a map of the city, only to find himself all the way across the city from where the battle had taken place. he finally closed the map after planning a route down a major highway and started off.
Several minutes, and a few surprised pedestrians later, he arrived at the scene of the battle. running quickly to the center of the explosion, he looked around to get his bearings on where their bodies might have gone- more likely where the pieces went. the place was utterly gutted, with pieces of asphalt thrown everywhere, and several buildings nearby dangerously close to collapse, if not already collapsed. it was going to be hell finding the remains of the Chaos Cannon. he layed down a scan of the area, hoping he'd be able to locate the power source for his suit's last try at life.
"nothing..."

The Chaos Cannon doesn't -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DaHaK: Re: PDBA: Generations « Reply #64 on Jul 5, 2005, 12:25pm »
DaHaK looked up from where he sat, suddenly aware of his surroundings.
"Wait a second..."
quickly realising he was no longer on the landing feild, he pieced together what exactly had happened.
"no..."
He popped the access panel on his arm cannon and quickly discovered what he feared to be true, the Chaos Emerald Shards hadn't respawned with him. he keyed the network restart on his suit's uplink to his ship, and watched anxiously as his suit reacquired his connection. as soon as the ship returned his signal, he called up the ship's scans of the area.

“Athena and her symbiote were read as separate entities. When she respawned, she was without her symbiote, just as you were without your sub-sentient crystal shards." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The reason Athena and Notek respawn properly is because the respawn machine is programmed to do that for them, and them only. it hasn't been programmed to do it with the Chaos Cannon. I hope this clears everything up

See, if I go back to where I was, that gives me time to recharge all my weapons since all my charges are at %0 when I respawn. normal weapons arent affected, but a Chaos charge, a Kinetic charge, and an Overload are lost upon respawn. so yeah, that way I dont get caught with 10 seconds of Overthruster, and don't have it when I need it
