now it sucks!
my german teacher (Frau. Hittle) gives us project-graded worksheets, projects, assignments, etc each night as HW. she grades quizes 40% of the final grade, tests 30%, which is totally bogus because i am usually good at tests and bad at quizes. she's the only teacher i have that enforces the tardy = detention thing, if you're late to school, namely after the bell rings, you can't turn in work. so you have to turn in homework before class "begins" (class begins after the announcements, she collects work at the attendance bell which is before the announcements)
english is rediculous because we get assigned reports each class, now we're on research papers which is this big huge thing with 11 test-graded turn-ins in it, and i'm behind on mine because i was sick, and couldn't find any info on my old topic and just now changed it and the first two things are due tomorow but i can't because it's 8:00, and no acess to library. she doesn't count "i was sick" as an excuse and now i'm being held responsible for late work (-20 points).
wake up at 5:50AM, to be at school by 6:30AM. it's rediculous!
band is the only class i actually willingly like, and would go to on my own.

Wow... Most of my teachers were never that harsh, at least not until college. Though my 11th grade Brit. Lit. teacher ascribed to that whole Arrive after bell = detention thing also... twit. Still, I've never seen a class where quizzes count for more than exams, that's just crazy talk. Get used to those research papers, BTW, you'll be getting one every year in English class until you graduate. You'll probably have a few to do in History before long also. It doesn't get any better in college for that either...

yeah, but at least college lets you make your schedule. some do, some don't, but i'm going to make sure i get a college that lets me have a schedule, where the day starts at 10 AM

Good luck with that... Many core requirement courses seem to congregate at the 8AM time slot. Then again, I was OK with that after having to get up at 6AM for HS.
The same thing applies to advanced courses for many majors. Only 1 section offered = take it when you can get it, even if it's 8AM Monday morning (and believe me, by senior year, it will start grating on your nerves to wake up that early).
Then again, it's a beautiful thing to have a schedule that allows Mondays or Fridays off. ;D

now, i went to the library on wednesday, and found one book on the topic i was doing. there were like 5 others at the other library. of course i didn't have time to go during the week, so now i'm behind on everything again. so now i need to go to the library, and do:
Preliminary bibliography 40 notecards Preliminary outline rough draft
all on sunday. this F-ing rediculous.

"Welcome to high school! Here's your number, this is how we will refer to you for the next 4 years!"
"Now, bend over and drop your pants!"
.....
And to think, you'll reminisce about how easy this was once you hit college...

High school rocks here. I think that's the reason we have an extra year. Start at 8:40, ends at 3:20, and SUCH EASY WORK. I got into the best core class, the smartest one, and we have such easy work. Almost no homework but maths, and gah. Freffh's brother said that it gets easier too. WOOHOO!
