Above the plains of Romul, upon the highest of mountain tops, rested the ghastly city of Vennsgard. Shadows constantly enshrouded the city from view, and the sunlight was said to never have touched the ground upon which the city was built. That was not undoubted, for Vennsgard was also said to be where the Vampires resided. They were ancient creatures with an insatiable lust for blood. Their strength increased dramatically with every life they took, and things had begun to look quite grim for the humans. They were but sheep to the vampiric menace, kept around only to be lead to the slaughter.
A small society of human warriors stood up to the Vampires. They were the Watchers. Nobody outside of their organization knew anything of them besides the fact that they existed. Each of the men in the organization had personal vendettas against Vampires. If they had not had run-ins with the creatures, they would not have had the courage to stand up to them. Now they had nothing to lose, but they had everything to gain.
The Watchers had been around for quite a long time, but they were always second best when it came to Vampire hunting. There was one man who shone brighter than all others. His name was Vladimir Dolore, and he was a Dhampir. He was half Vampire and half human. Neither side really accepted him. Vladimir was left to his own as a child, and he had learned through experience how to defend himself. His super-human strength was one of his most valued assets when it came to dealing with Vampires. They tried to overpower him, but he always came out on top.
The war between the Vampires and the humans had been raging for hundreds of years. They were not open battles but instead, they were fought in homes and in towns. They were fought in back alleys and populated areas. It was an ugly form of war that had taken millions of lives. However, there is an ancient prophecy.. A young boy, borne unto the world by a vampiric father and a human mother, shall rise up to assume the throne of the Vampire nation. This prophecy was lost.. And lost for a reason. Vladimir Dolore’s father had destroyed it to make sure that his son did not attempt to assume the throne
However, there are a select few who know the prophecy, and they intend for it to be fulfilled.
[ Not too great, but I was in a rush to get it all down. I'll get back to this at a later date; work calls. ]
