You walk into the Dungeon of Eternal Turmoil. All around you, you see skulls littering the floor, and broken bones of once living creatures. There is moss growing in all the cracks of the building, and there is a slight water leak somewhere in the building. [/b]

Kelva’s eyes hurriedly scoped out the area as he hunched his way through the entrance into the main courtyard of the once-castle. With one nervous breath he entered the building, fingers crossed . . .

Kelva hurried into the courtyard, attempting to stay as unobtrusive as possible. It seemed he had some luck in that regard; none of the monsters he had heard about had made themselves known as yet.
The courtyard itself was a wreck, that spoke of glory in days gone by. Not much was left, save a muddy field with a few small patches of grass struggling to grow, but mostly failing. In the center of the courtyard stood a marble fountain, which was undoubtedly beautiful once, but the water had stopped flowing ages ago, and it now was cracked and broken in several places, the ornate carvings defaced by the ravages of time or agents unknown.
Several avenues for advancement presented themselves. Directly ahead of Kelva was a large set of oaken double doors, covered in mosses and lichens, that led into the inner courtyard. Beyond them, rising from the crumbling ruins, was the half-destroyed wreckage of the castle's keep; it seemed to have taken some major blows from a catapult or similar siege weapon, as the top of the tower was completely missing. To his right and left, smaller, more nondescript doors led into sections of the castle proper.

“These monsters certainly aren’t very bright” Kelva muttered to himself. “They left the the treasure right behind mister door here I bet!” With a discombobulated smile and lengthy gait, Kelva entered the massive twin doors . . .

Kelva strode over to the double doors and pushed them open without hesitation. They creaked mightily as they moved, and it took a lot of muscle to get them wide enough so he could step through.
The doors opened into a relatively small room, which appeared to have been a security checkpoint. In fact, it appeared to still be precisely that, as a pair of goblins decked out with light armor, shields, and spears turned away from their coversation to stare at Kelva as he entered.
"Hhrg? Hu-man!" shouted one of them, and they both levelled their spears at him and prepared to attack!

That is indeed exactly what that damage number means; it's raw attack power against an unarmored target.

Panting Kelva realized he was at a disadvantage. His eyes narrowed, he sized up his opponents. The goblin upon whom he had heaped the majority of his destruction was badly wounded – it would take but a few more well-placed arrows to finish him off. The other however . . .
It would have to wait, Kelva decided. Pulling out an herb, he resumed the battle.

Kelva struck down the weakened goblin, and then fled back the way he came, into the outer courtyard once more. He finally chanced a glance over his shoulder once he had passed the fountain, and found that the other goblin had not given chase... Though what it was doing was unknown, as the inside of the guard post was obscured by the partially opened doors and deep shadows.

Not wanting to take any chances, Kelva continued his journey back to the capital city, his frenzied run slowing to a hurried walk. As he walked his breath began to come back to him, and he inspected his wounds.

As Bismark continued to travel in the direction indicated, the ground beneath him gave way to grass more aptly described as stubble then plant life. As the living flora gave way to rockier ground he spied a structure in the distance that had obviously been in a state of disrepair for quite some time. His eyes roved over the crushed parapets, the ruined walls, and the rotting wood of some sort of seige weapon setting on the side of the path. So preoccupied was he that Bismark nearly stumbled over the likewise transfixed figure standing near the entrance.
"Oi watch it!" The Dwarf grumbled angrily, turning away from the forbidding sight.
“I take it you would be Haime?” The dwarf’s face brightened noticeably at the mention of his name.
“Aye, that I would be. You be from the Advent’rer’s Guild?” Bismark chuckled at the dwarf’s abrupt manner.
“Indeed I am.” Bismark gazed up again at the castle before him. “Your amulet’s in there?”
“Dratted goblins stole it from me while I were nappin’” The dwarf shot him a glare that clearly instructed him not to question his “nappin” habits. “I ‘aint much in battle, but I’ll come along if you want. T‘aint one to stand idly by while someone else does all the work.” [/b]

"You're welcome to come along, as long as you think you can handle yourself when things get rough. If not, you had better stay here," said Bismarck, as he sized up the Dwarf. He seemed stocky and muscular, but then again, so did every Dwarf Bismarck had ever met. He supposed that Haime could make his own decisions about tagging along.
"Before I go on a wild goose chase in there, though, maybe you can tell me where the goblins that took it are in the ruins, or at least which direction they went."
