Attention AltL, Notesurfer, and Kaine: Your plotlines have begun already. Any time you would like to begin, please feel free.
Attention Niff, once again, if you are willing to RP seriously, PM me. Duran does not have to stay dead.
Everyone else: Despite the fact that I have mentioned it several times, only two of you have a character capable of healing others. In fact, very few of you are capable of even healing yourselves, barring item use.
Duran will EVENTUALLY get Cure Light, if Niff decides to join again. Even still, it will take so long, Duran will have so few MP, and he will be such a lousy spellcaster anyway, that it will hardly matter. Link will also eventually learn the Life spell, which will be significantly better than Cure Light, but it'll be a while before he gets it... As for the rest of you, a few of you will be able to drain HP from enemies for your own use, but that's it...
For any newcomers, or anyone who hasn't started RPing yet and wants to switch characters, here is an exhaustive look at some of my suggestions for another healer:
White Mage - FF1 (Mage): An excellent healing and support mage, she (he?) will also gain a limited selection of attack spells as well. Her physical fighting isn't horrible, either.
Red Mage - FF1 (Balance): Jack of all trades, including healing, but master of none. He will get a myriad of lower powered spells, and will even eventually learn some of the higher powered ones as well, plus his physical fighting is not shabby at all.
Rosa - FF2 (Mage): Quite a talented healer, and also a decent fighter to boot when armed with a bow. Eventually will learn the devastatingly powerful attack spell "White" as well.
Tellah / FuSoYa - FF2 (Mages): Both are very similar in terms of abilities, and will learn a huge range of spells. This will eventually grow to include the most powerful healing spells, as well as the most powerful attack spells. However, their physical attack and defense will both be quite lacking.
Porom - FF2 (Mage): Another mage similar to Rosa, though a bit more lacking physically. She will get techs to enhance her magic, however.
Cecil - FF2 (Balance): Paladin Cecil, of course. Learns low level healing spells, but has fair magical strength. Backs it up with huge physical strength, however.
Terra - FF3 (Balance): Learns some basic healing and support magic, in addition to some very powerful fire spells. Good both physically and magically, and can boost both quite a lot using her "Morph" technique.
Celes - FF3 (Balance): Same magical abilities as Terra, except she will learn ice spells instead of fire ones. Also quite good both physically and magically, and can use her "Runic Blade" tech to restore her MP.
Sabin - FF3 (Warrior): An unlikely healer, but will learn two techs to heal others (but unusually, not himself). Mantra will restore the HP of all of Sabin's allies by a moderate amount. Twister will KO Sabin, but completely restore all of his allies. Also a physical powerhouse, with some hugely powerful attack skills.
Strago - FF3 (Mage): His blue magic is equally powerful for both healing, support, and attacking, but is learned in an unusual manner. Also not particularly tough or strong physically.
Relm - FF3 (Balance): Her "Sketch" and "Control" techniques can be used to hijack the abilities of monsters and other foes, including healing skills. Unpredictable effects make her less than reliable, however, and she is also physically equal to Strago.
Setzer - FF3 (Balance): Another unpredictable character, his "Slot" technique has a few healing effects attached to it, but its use relies entirely on luck. He is, however, a decent physical attacker.
Gau - FF3 (Warrior): Gau's "Rage" technique can be used to mimic the abilities of monsters, including those with healing abilities. Somewhat more predictable than Relm or Setzer, but like Strago, his skills are learned in an awkward fashion. Quite a physical powerhouse, but relies on "Rage" to attack physically as well...
Banon - FF3 (Balance): A bit character with a group healing technique. Fairly weak physically, but his techniques are quite powerful.
Dagger / Eiko - FF9 (Mage): Rather similar in terms of healing and support skills. They only differ in magical strength (Eiko is superior) and summoning ability (Dagger has a wider range, and can summon more powerful creatures). Both are somewhat weak physically, however.
Amarant - FF9 (Balance): Already discussed. Heavy on the physical, light on the magical, but can heal others.
Beatrix - FF9 (Balance): Quite talented both physically and magically. She will learn mid level healing magic.
Quina - FF9 (Balance): Similar to Strago, in that he uses Blue Magic learned from enemies. Fair both physically and magically, but his skills can be awkward to acquire.
Cristo / Nara - Dragon Warrior 4 (Balance): Both are powerful healers, and fair fighters. Cristo will learn more powerful healing spells overall, and will learn them faster than Nara. Nara will learn more techniques instead.
Hero - Dragon Warrior 4 (Balance): A physical and magical powerhouse. Learns truly incredibly powerful healing spells, decent attack magic, and is a monstrously powerful physical fighter.
Healie - Dragon Warrior 4 (Mage): An unusual character, Healie is a weak physical attacker. However, he will learn all of the most powerful healing spells, and will also get very high physical and magical defense. A support character through and through.
Meiu - Phantasy Star 3 (Balance): A well balanced healer and physical fighter. She will only learn low level healing techs, however.
Chaz - Phantasy Star 4 (Balance): A physical and magical powerhouse. He will learn very powerful attack spells, and will also learn high level healing spells, but these will come slowly.
Rika - Phantasy Star 4 (Balance): Magically proficient, and will learn the high level healing spells faster than Chaz, as well as a multitude of support magic. Physically competent as well, though not as tough nor strong as Chaz.
Diem - Phantasy Star 4 (Warrior): A powerful physical fighter. She will learn a low level healing tech for the entire group, and a mid level healing tech effective only on mechanical beings.
Raja - Phantasy Star 4 (Mage): An incredibly powerful magician, with astoundingly effective healing magic. He will also learn a selection of support magic, and a few odd attack spells and techs. However, he will always be very weak physically.
Peach - Super Mario Bros. (Mage): A competent mage. She will learn mid level healing spells, as well as some support spells, but will always be rather weak physically.
Mallow - Super Mario Bros. (Mage): A better fighter than Peach, but only learns low level healing spells. However, his attack magic becomes quite powerful, and he has quite good defense.
Paula - Earthbound (Mage): An extremely powerful mage. She will learn a plethora of attack, support, and healing spells. However, her physical skills will always be lacking.
Poo - Earthbound (Balance): A powerful physical fighter, as well as a competent spellcaster. Learns powerful magic of all types, but much slower than Paula, and his spells will never pack the same punch as hers. However, he is quite a good physical fighter in addition.
Maxim / Hero - Lufia (Balance): Both are powerful physical fighters, who will learn up to high level healing spells, though very slowly. They will also learn a fair selection of attack and support spells.
Selan - Lufia (Mage): A powerful spellcaster, as well as a passable fighter. She will learn the most powerful healing spells, as well as good support and attack magic, and have moderate physical attack and defense to boot.
Artea / Jerin - Lufia (Balance): Both will be fair physical fighters, and devastating spellcasters. Each will learn the most powerful attacks spells, as well as high level healing and support spells.
Alakazam / Mew / Mewtwo - Pokemon (Balance): All three will learn the powerful healing technique "Recover." However, all three will suffer from the same liability: A lack of truly powerful physical ability. Alakazam will have an additional problem: the need to evolve into it's highest form.
Alma - FF Tactics (Mage): Alma will remain weak physically always, but will gradually learn utterly overpowering healing and support spells, almost to the point of rediculousness.
Marle - Chrono Trigger (Mage): Marle is a healer extraordinaire, learning the most powerful healing spells available. She will also gain some decent attack and support magic as well. However, he physical abilities will always leave something to be desired.
Frog - Chrono Trigger (Balance): Frog will learn both healing spells and healing techs, giving him an unusual edge in versatility that most other characters lack. He will also learn attack magic and techs. Unfortunately, all of his magic will lack power, but he makes up for this with high physical strength.
Ayla / Robo - Chrono Trigger (Warrior): Both characters are hard-hitting warriors, who will end up with low level healing techs early on. In the case of Robo, he will also gain a low level group healing tech later.
Soma Cruz - Castlevania (Balance): Soma will learn a huge array of techs and spells of all types, though in an awkward manner. Among these will be an assortment of healing techs.
Juste Belmont - Castlevania (Balance): Juste will only learn a single healing spell, but it will be extremely powerful. However, he will have good physical strength, as well as an array of decent magical attacks.
.....
This list is not meant to be anywhere near complete. In fact, others should feel free to suggest more alternatives. This is just designed to highlight the myriad of characters of all varieties who could support our current members well...
I wonder if this will simply be ignored again.
