What would be awesomest, however, is if someone other than Nick and I were to kick in their 2 cents here, and tell us what you think of the ideas flying around. We may well have to replace some of the game staff in the near future...

Well my problem with the travelling thing is that things are going to slow down quite a bit due to this; person wants to get to town b because he wants a quest, they then have to wait about 3 hours (average, depends on the quickness with which an OL responds) to actually get to that city. However, it would make things alot easier to keep track of where a player is at any given time. I would like to say that a player should have to post that they "enter the wilds taking the path down to Kestral," and then wait for the OL to respond with the scenario (if any). Just make sure that it's something quickie. Otherwise people would just hole-up in one town, not wanting to go through the trouble of getting to another.
Big paragraph eh? But anyway I think that mostly just you n' me are the only two who really care enough at this point to do much. I'm sure Niff and Ranger would play once we get it going, but for now it may be up to just us to get everything up and running.
Oh, yeah, the "bulletin board" thing would be unique to pretty much every town. I plan on listing like what shops there are, important places, quests, events, etc. which will change over time, of course. The ยง general board we can have basic announcements like "New Player's Guide" to explain how to get started and to check the library for information.
I'm done working on this for today. Perhaps tomorrow I'll clean-up the topics in the current locations we have and try to get every key spot in place so that it'll be set once we're ready to start.

Just let me know what you want me to do. This is your baby after all. Oh, and unless you can convince Niff to part with his asinine "No checking any boards other than General" policy, we'll never see him in here.

[glow=black,2,300]overlord test
hey, this is pretty neat. I'm thinking this may be what I'll do for my Overlord color scheme or something similar to it. [/glow]

White text on a white background? May not be the best idea, unless I'm missing something.

Ok, so I never got around to it. I'm not going to have time today or tomorrow either, so if you get a chance go through each of the sub-boards we have and put in basic things like shops, adventurer's guilds, etc. You can use the topics we already have up, just make sure to baleet any extra posts and any record of active/completion on quests and such.

Do you want me to delete old quests and quest locations too? Or just reset them to undone status for everyone?

reset them to undone. Don't bother adding any to the Suryan Adventurers' Guild, but you'd have to think-up a basic context for 2-3 for Lesko and Kestral.

Hmm... Give me some context then. What sort of cities are these? I understand that Suryan, being the capital, is probably pretty bustling and typical of a large, medieval/rennaisance style city. Kestral sort of strikes me as more agrarian, or perhaps even woodsy, and certainly not as populous or large as Suryan; maybe a moderately sized town at most. Lesko seems more like a "holy city." Few people other than the clergy live there, and the whole city is run sort of like a monastary, so it remains rather small.
Am I off the mark here?

OK, I've cleaned up all the old quests and activities. Once you can give me some info on those cities, I'll add in some more functional locations to each.

Glad to hear it.
Considering that it seems like we may well generate some new interest here, we might want to quicken the pace of getting this up and running before that interest fades away...

My thoughts were Kestral was like an adventurer's outpost, Lesko was the religious monestary-esque place, and Suryan of course is the capital. We should probably put in another 2 minor outposts and 1 big city, but there's no rush for the time being.
