Heh, sorry. I've been meaning to get around to that, and yet every time I have the time and motivation, something drags me away from the computer.
Anyway, feel free to move onto series 2 at any time.

Nayton sent another fireball spiralling toward the crazed bandit, who had been pummeling him with his bare hands with little regard for his own safety as Nayton flung spell after spell at the man. The spell struck home once again, and this time the man wavered, then stopped dead in his tracks. Nayton panted heavily as he watched what the fellow would do next, ready to cast more spells to defend himself if need be.
The bandit swayed on his feet, and opened and closed his mouth as if to speak several times. The punishment he had taken had taken its toll on his appearance, too, and he was looking just as ragged as his fellow who had been rolling in the dirt. Nayton kept an eye on this second bandit, incase he tried anything sneaky, but the man simply stood, slack-jawed and drooling slightly, watching the battle unfold. Nayton flicked his glance back to the violent bandit just in time for a sound to emanate from his mouth.
"Guuuuuuuuuuuuuh," said the bandit, and then he promptly fell face-first into the dirt, sending a small cloud of dust swirling up from where he hit.
"Daah, Boss, you OK?" asked the other bandit, as he seemed to return to his senses a bit. He shuffled over to his unconcious partner, and began to shake him violently, but it seemed to have no effect. The man also seemed to be ignoring Nayton entirely.
Nayton involuntarily touched the spot near his eye where the bandit had managed to land one of his fiercest punches. It was tender there, and felt like it was starting to swell, but he felt fortunate. At least the man hadn't had any weapons...

"I believe the tables have turned," Nayton said to the dim-wit brigand in front of him. "Now get out of here before I have to torch you too!" He formed a small fireball in his palm, which he kept at his side, just as a reminder to the assailant that he could throw it, if he wanted to.
OOC: Do I get XP from the previous fight? How're we doing XP within quests; I know we had planned on rewarding XP for creativeness and effectiveness with RP, but are we also going to give XP for regular combat too?

The man continued to ignore Nayton, despite the ball of flame he hald in his palm, focusing all his attentions on his stricken partner.
"Wake up, Boss," he said, as he continued to shake the unconcious man, "It's not bedtime yet."
There was no response, other than the defeated bandit's head beginning to loll uncomfortably on his shoulders and his tongue now drooping out of the corner of his mouth.
OOC: If this was a pure combat challenge, I would have rewarded XP for it immediately. However, since it's both combat and RP, I'll issue your reward when this particular scenario ends.
That, and the fact that I remembered that I forgot to reward XP after the above posts were complete... And then my DSL inexplicably cut out, so I couldn't add it in. XP

Nayton stared at the two on the ground, steadily growing annoyed by their lack of attention. He tossed the fireball nonchalantly over the still-conscious guy's head, singing his hair. He felt that now he should get some compensation for the trouble they had caused him.
"Give me your money and/or valuables, or you go down like he did." Nayton again summoned another ball of fire to be ready in case he was attacked.

The dim bandit turned slowly to gaze up blankly at Nayton.
"Daah, you're a bad man!" he said sadly, "Leave me alone!"
He then turned away and continued to shake his unconcious partner, who remained limp and oblivious to the effrots made to awaken him.

"'I'm a bad man,' as if. You're the one who tried to rob me earlier!" Nayton thought to himself; he couldn't just leave these two behind. Afterall, they might attack someone else that passes by when the boss-man returned to normal. He felt if he could make them swear off their evil ways, he could safely leave them.
"Look, if I heal this guy, make him all better, no more "ow ow's," will you two stop attacking people on this road, or any other road and go find a peaceful life in a city? To be honest I don't care what you do, just stop attacking people."

"Make him... better?" asked the dim bandit. His face broke into a huge, innocnet grin, "You're not a bad man!"
The man smiled up at Nayton, childlike and seeming to possess all the enjoyment in the world.

Nayton conjured a blue aura at his hands. A blue column of light rose up from his feet and up into the air. The same column fell onto the downed bandit with a divine chime. The bandit blinked and took a deep breath, sitting up, and feeling his wounds. His clothes were still charred, but he felt completely better.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way,"

As Nayton turned to go, the dim-witted bandit shouted, "BOSS!" and threw his arms wide with a huge grin on his face. This had the unfortunate effect of clocking the newly concious man across the temple, which immediately served to render the man unconcious once more.
"Dah, sorry Boss..." moaned the dim one, and he began to shake the unconcious man all over again.
Nayton shook his head in bewilderment, and forged on ahead toward Lesko. He reached the gates of the Holy City without further incident.
Nayton is awarded +50 XP! Nayton has completed * 1/3 of the "Special Delivery" quest!
