Ranger walked out of Kestral onto the crossroads.. He wasn't sure where he would go he was mostly just looking for some ruffians to beat up after he lost to those goblins. He strolled along the road in this manner for a while

Ranger walked along the road for some time, passing the occasional lone traveller or horse and cart. Several of the more friendly folk waved to him as they passed, but most simply went on their way... It seemed like this was a reasonably safe area.
OL's note: You would be better served heading into a dungeon or other training ground, or simply striking out into the wilderness.

Ranger walks down the road toward the iron mines

Ranger traveled down the path to the iron mines from the crossroads. It wasn't long before he began to hear the sound of miners, pack animals, and clanking tools, and a short while later, he began to see the telltale signs of mining equipment and various other accoutrements of the trade on the sides of the road. As he crested the last hill, the entrance to the mine came into view below, along with a small group of workers going about their business in a clearing that spread in front of the tunnel.

Ranger made the long trek to Lesko along the main road. He passed several nondescript travellers along the way, some of whom nodded in acknowledgement, others who simply moved along, but nothing untoward occurred. Eventually, the city of Lesko appeared on the eastern horizon.

Nayton stepped out into the dusty set of pathways, all leading to different locations across the crest of the planet. Carefully, he studied the signs before him and headed down the path towards Suryan. He had made the trip before with little effort (besides an ambush), and was hoping for another easy trip.

Nayton was having a peaceful journey down the road, until he came upon that same spot...
By the time Nayton had spotted the two bandits, they had already caught sight of him as well, and were approaching. They didn't look much different from last time, predatory grins included, except it seemed that the dirt and tears their last encounter with Nayton had left in their clothes hadn't been fixed up yet. This lent them the overall appearance of being a bit shabbier and travel-worn, but their intent certainly seemed to be the same...
"Ey, guvnah," said the brighter of the two, "Ows about yah give us yah belongings, an' we won't 'ave tah..."
A paleness shot across the man's face, as he apparently first recognized who he was addressing.
"Oi, nuttah!" he half-grumbled, half-shouted, "Of all the rotten lousy luck!"

"You still here?" Nayt remarked. He didn't actually think they'd stop their evil ways, but figured they would at least stop long enough to keep the cover that they did. He thought the situation over in his head.
"You know what? I don't really care if you keep on trying to rob people at this rate; I have my own matters to attend to. It's not my job to regulate the laws. So just let me pass and there will be no problems."
He walked past the two, continuing on his way back to Suryan.

As Nayton tried to walk past, the smarter bandit got right up into his face.
"Ya know, ya nasty lit'ul bugger," he said in a menacing undertone, "I ain't fuhgot mah knife this time, an I owe yah a thrashin' ta pay yah back. So's if yah don' want me ta cutchya, yah will be handin' ovah yah're belongings, nice an' slow..."

Nayton stood still for a moment; he was truly growing tired of these thugs. He wanted to avoid an open combat at such a close range, since a dagger would go in quicker than his spells would cast. He clenched his fist tight around a rune, and before either of them could figure out what was happening, landed a fist in the head bandit's face. The bandit reeled in shock, falling to his bottom on the floor, holding his now bleeding nose.
Nayton spun around to see the dim-witted bandit still standing where he was, trying to decide whether to help his boss or turn and flee. Nayt summoned a fireball in his hand, just as a reminder of what would happen if the bandit chose to fight. After a moment of indecisiveness from the bandit, he threw the fireball at the bandit's feet, lighting his shoes on fire. The bandit began to run around crazed, trying to put out the fire.
Nayt felt something grab at his back and pull him down to the floor by the trim of his robes. He landed hard on his back as the bandit rolled over top of him, dagger at-hand, now pressed up against his neck. Blood dripped from his nose, landing on Nayt's face and robes. He squirmed for a quick moment until the dagger was pressed harder against his vitals.
"You might want to re-consider your situation, sonny," the bandit snarled, as he clearly had the upper-hand this time around.
"Don't count on it," Nayton stressed through his teeth as he kicked hard into the air with his legs, flipping himself and the bandit over vertically, head-over-heels. Now, the tides had turned. Nayt landed another secure punch to the bandit's face while he was confused from the sudden change of position. Quickly, Nayt stood from the dazed body of the bandit, brushed himself off, and began to quickly run the rest of the way to Suryan.

Nayton gains +10 XP, for sneaking his way out of a bad situation.
Some time later, Nayton reached the gates of Suryan at a dead run. He was totally winded and worn out, and covered in dust from the road after his tussle with the bandit, but he had made good time. He slowed to a walk as he approached the city gates, and glanced behind him, but it seemed like he had not been followed.

Nayt quickly found himself on the road again, travelling to Lesko along the same beaten road. This time, however, a quarter-mile from the "usual spot," he decided to wander off the main path and take a small detour to avoid the trouble with the bandits.

Nayton struck off the beaten path for a while, giving the spot that the bandits frequented a wide berth. He looped off the road to the north quite a ways, and ended up getting back onto the road about a mile and a half past where he had the encounters before. The detour itself was uneventful, and Nayton was pleased that he hadn't been delayed more than a half hour.
However, about a half mile from the city limits of Lesko, Nayton's mood turned distinctly more foul as a voice called out from some bushes, "Oi! Now, Billy!"
The larger bandit leapt from the bushes in a surprising show of agility and smashed into Nayton, knocking them both to the ground before Nayton could ready a rune. The smarter bandit sauntered up, and dragged Nayton up from the ground by his collar.
"Now listen here, yah nasty lit'ul bugger," the bandit hissed. His nose was crushed to the side and distinctly swollen, obviously a token of their last encounter, "Yah ain't gettin' away that easily again. I owe yah a double thrashin' now, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna just sucker punch you! So get up an' fight like a man, so I can gut yah like a fish!"
The man had his knife at the ready, and Nayton's escape was blocked by the other bandit behind him. It seemed he had no choice...
BATTLE!
