“Here, this way” Haime gestured over his shoulder as he strode through the main entrance towards a door towards the far left of the inner courtyard. “I guess I might’s well show you the way, though I’d ‘preciate a little protection if’n it get’s nasty.”
Haime has joined Bismarck’s party!

"Hey, I'm grateful if you want to guide me, it means this job will be accomplished that much faster if I don't have to hunt all over the place," responded Bismarck, as he followed the Dwarf to the door, "And I can handle the fighting, if you want; that's what you hired me for, right?"
Bismarck couldn't tell if Haime snorted derisively, or with a masked chuckle, as the groaning of the rusted door hinges masked the sound. Bismarck kept his hand on his swordhilt as the pair stepped into the doorway, just incase there was trouble beyond...

The door swung open to reveal . . . nothing. The room was completely empty.
“T-that’s impossible! I know they came in here!” The dwarf sputtered.
“Don’t lose hope yet, there’s something very strange about this room . . .” Bismarck said offhandedly as he strode to the other side, checking it carefully. He noted an unusual pattern of gaps in between some of the brick, and it was at that point that it hit him.
“There’s no moss in these cracks.” Bismarck stood back and examined the rectangular outline in the wall . . . [/color]

Bismarck had heard that Dwarves were supposed to be masters at finding hidden traps and switches in stonework, something about their innate connection to the stone where they made their homes or somesuch bunk. Then again, he had also heard that Dwarves were ferocious warriors... He couldn't shake the feeling that something seemed "off" about this Haime character. He kept his sentiments to himself for now, however he also decided to start keeping an eye on Haime...
"It's a concealed switch," said Bismarck, shuffling his hand around the outline of the rectangle, "I bet it's connected to a hidden door. Stand back; there could be a trap attached."
Bismarck waited until Haime had retreated behind the doorjamb from the previous room. Once the Dwarf was behind a solid object, he stood as far to the side of the switch as his reach would allow, and used the flat of the tip of his blade to depress the switch.

With a rumble of stone and a cloud of dust, the section of wall swung backwards on it’s hinges. Cautiously peering around the corner of the door, Bismarck saw two kobold privates gambling at a short table made to fit them. The furry creatures, while not necessarily physically intimidating, made up for this in alertness and intellect. One glanced up from his dice and immediately grunted to his partner, the two drawing bo staves from their backs. Bismarck quickly stepped back, hoping to surprise them, but they were already through the door glaring menacingly at him. It was at this moment that Haime chose to make his abrupt entrance . . .

Bismarck searched the bodies for useful items, but unfortunately most of the Kobold’s clothing and tools had been scaled down for them. The bo staff however . . . that could possibly come in handy. Bismarck stowed the undamaged miniature weapon in his pack for later.

Bismarck wiped the blood of the kobolds off of his blade onto one of the furry corpse's clothes. He sheathed his sword and turned to Haime.
"You all right to go on?" he asked, "It looked like you took some nasty knocks beck there."
"Fah!" snorted Haime, "'T'll take more'n that ta put me down!"
"Good," replied Bismarck, as he headed for the room revealed by the secret door. He took a moment to glance over at the kobolds' table, just incase they had left some of the spoils of their gambling behind, but mostly he wanted to be sure that there were no other nasty surprises waiting for them.

Absolutely, will be done momentarily.

Bismarck strode back and grabbed a few paper bills off the table before continuing on.
+10 XP
Bismarck and Haime continued down the maze of dingy hallways until they came to a fork. A dryer, lighter hallway went right and turned abruptly. Next to it a mossy and somewhat damp hallway snaked its way left.
"I thinks they went left." Haime pointed urgently to the southern hallway.[/b]

Left, eh? thought Bismarck, And just how would he know that for sure?
"We should follow them to the left, then," said Bismarck, studying the hallway. He wondered where suck a dank hallway would lead in the ruins of an old castle.
"It looks like it gets pretty dark further on," he continued, "I heard once that Dwarves can see in the dark. Is that true?"

Ranger made his way into the Dungeon ready for anything to pop out at him and attack. He was sure he remembered seeing something about this place in one of the adventurer's guilds. He might have to check back in at one later and see what bounty he could round up by coming back sometime.

Despite his expectations, the courtyard of the ruined castle was quiet. It was an eerie sort of calm, however, that spoke of lurking evils just beyond the limits of perception...

Ranger made his way into the dungeon and began taking notice of the different surroundings about him to use for cover if he should be attacked. He walked along and made his way further in.

Ranger once again stood in the ruined main courtyard of the castle, the usual unsettling calm hanging over the remains of this once proud place. Nothing immediately presented itself, save the three sets of doors, each leading to a different section of the castle or grounds.
