This Lone Star is obviously attracted to suspicious behaviour . . . what could be more suspicious than a dark alley? Magus proceeded in that direction . . .

MAGUS
Magus crossed the street and entered the mouth of the alley. Almost no light pierced the gloom in this place, and it only got steadily darker as he slowly advanced into the alley. It was then that Magus realized that he could not see the moon, or the stars, at all in this city...
After a short distance, the narrow alley opened onto a small clearing lodged between the buildings. Even in the limited light, Magus could see that this place was filthy. Piles of garbage and debris, large and small, were scattered everywhere. Small puddles of murky water reflected what little light there was. Near the buildings, the shadows were even deeper, and could be hiding anything...
Suddenly, an inhumanly deep, gravelly voice fom behind him grumbled, "You lost, kid?"

Magus turned to face the man. Obviously needing a shave, this man was obviously not the Lone Star.
"I am no child, but I would appreciate it if you would give me directions to the Lone Star."

MAGUS
"Ah. Haha! HAHAHAHAHAH!"
The "man" laughed as it emerged from the shadows, and Magus saw exactly how mistaken his first impressions were. What he had thought was an unshaven face was actually the tattered, stringy remains of a shirt, and what he thought were eyes were metal studs imbedded in the flesh of the creature standing before him...
The creature before him had to be at least 8 feet tall, and hugely broad and muscular. It had deep green skin, and cruel yellow eyes that glinted in the low light. Over the top of the ruined shirt and a pair of brown leather pants, it wore a long leather trenchcoat which was in surprisingly good condition. It was also pointing a gun in Magus's direction.
"You ain't gonna find any Lone Star around here, punk! And even if you did, no Lone Star will give a crap as long as I give him a cut of my haul! So now, gimmie all your Nuyen, and maybe I'll let you walk out of this alley. Or better yet, don't, because then I can put some holes in you and still make some dough!"

Raziel ponders for a moment. "As far as I can tell...it seems the very fabric of reality is disturbed by something...what, I cannot tell. I don't know whether these tears leap across time or space..."

RAZIEL
Gaspar smiles on hearing Raziel's explanation. "You have actually figured out quite a bit already," he said, sounding very pleased, "Until very recently, these were simply tears between dimensions. Time still passed in a linear fashion in all of the affected dimensions, despite the fact that they should not have been interacting at all. However, recently events have conspired to alter the way of these things. It is how I came to be involved, and how this place became not simply just The End of Time, but is now The End of Reality..."
"Tell me, Raziel," continued Gaspar after a short pause, "How many times have you passed through these rifts between dimensions? And have you encountered anyone in your travels who did not belong, or had travelled the rifts as well?"

MAGUS
"Ooooooh, listen to the prissy Elf threaten me!" mocked the hulking brute, "You think yer such a tough guy, huh? Think you can outsmart me by saying you ain't got no dough, just because I'm an Orc, huh?"
The Orc grinned widely, exposing an enormous pair of fangs jutting upward from its lower jaw, and pointed the gun at Magus's head.
"I think I'm gonna ventilate you, just for fun now, you pansy!"

"Before my first journey through one of these rifts...I encountered one who claimed to be from another world...claimed to be kin to vampires, yet was like none I had ever seen. I first entered a rift escaping from him...I emerged in a world with...technology the likes I'd never seen before...various "Space Pirates"...and one called Ridley greeted me there...I was once more forced to retreat from that realm into another when someone they called the Hunter attacked. There I landed in Firebrand's realm...after my stay there, I came here while fleeing pursuit once more. That makes...three total."

Ranger stood up slowly and kicked his gun across the floor to the Russian Gaurd. He kept his hands over his head and began his question.
"Where am I?" He had dreaded asking it the whole time everything had felt so wrong. He hoped his fears weren't reality though. If they were then things would get a lot worse before they got better.

RAZIEL
"Three times," muttered Gaspar, "That's not nearly as effective as I had hoped."
He looked back at Raziel, "You see, we have stumbled on a means to draw those who are passing between dimensions to this place. But apparently, it does not work as well as we had hoped. You should have arrived here once we became aware of you, and you passed through another rift. I do not know why you made an extra jump... Fortunately, because we were focused on bringing you here, Master Firebrand was able to come with you."
"Listen to me ramble again," sighed Gaspar, "That can wait. However, for now, I need to know details of places you have been, and those you have seen, especially those who were out of place. We need to bring those others who are passing between dimensions here as well. The more we are aware of, the better we can do. You two are but the first in the gathering. So please, help us to know, and then I shall explain everything."
