DJay got all but one of the characters I was thinking. A few you brought up were a bit of a stretch and had previously crossed my mind. If you need a hint, let me know.
As for SSBB, I wouldn't know, I've never played it.

It is not ROB. And the question remains: WHY haven't you played this game? So good.
Other characters who die... Hmmm. The deaths of all 6 sages is sort of implied, at least according to my interpretation. However, that can't possibly be accurate. Ganondorf seems to die (at least that was the impression I got, what with the whole coughing up blood / green stuff) at the end of the game, but then shortly after we see that he is alive, but sealed away, so that can't possibly be it either.
I have a hunch I'm missing someone either obvious or fairly generic. Maybe that hint would be helpful right about now... Or maybe someone else's memory is better than mine.

It happens between getting the Ocarina of Time and getting the Master Sword.

Ah hell. I can't remember for the life of me. I'm going to have to concede defeat on this one.

I am gonna guess Wario or Peach. As far as OOT there are too many dead to count. All of Hyrule for instance. Specifically I'd say the King and Inca are all I can think of.

::votes that Nick leaves the question open until Draxas plays through and finds the person::
Edit: If Ranger's sig is accurate he has clocked over one sixth of a year on WoW..63 days...

Ranger: Both are incorrect
Alt: Considering how many other game I have on my plate right now, getting back to OoT in a timely fashion is basically not going to happen. So don't hold up the question on my account.
...It's one of the Kokiri, isn't it. They tried to leave the forest and died for their trouble.

The only spoken line of dialog is from Snake. And yes, he certainly did keep us waiting.

Captain Nikolai's nuclear submarine is vertical and flooded with sea water, thus requiring you to swim around in a free-form 3D environment (extremely difficult to do with precision, especially considering there is a time-limit on your breath guage and before the sub blows up). You gotta kill Renard, save Christmas Jones, and stop the sub from a'sploding.

I was actually looking for the details of the actual battle with Renard, not the stage description (though said description was accurate).

I don't recall that much detail from the game, just the obnoxious swimming and air guage o.O
If the movie is recreated, you push a button and shoot the pointy plutonium rod at him O.o

That is exactly correct. You press a button and he dies.
I cannot express how disappointing that was. :/

I think I'll wrap up the "who dies in OOT" question --
After you get the Ocarina of Time and are on the way to the Temple of Time, if you go around the back alleys of Hyrule Castle Town (or Hyrule Market, whatever it's called), where you can buy bombchus and return the dog to the lady for the HPC, etc, there's a soldier lying against the wall, who will tell you about how he tried to stop Ganandorf and how the princess escaped. He then dies before your eyes.

its currently at exactly 65 days alt and thats not even a proper representation it starts clocking whenever its fired up and its always on and idle pretty much. Still I do have about 30 days clocked between all my characters I think.
